What are the career opportunities for a Techno Functional Business Analyst. Looking for some guidance to plan my career.
I have total 8 years of experience into the IT industry. Starting 4-5 years were into technical profile like developer, QA. From last 3 years as a BA.Infosys Wipro Tata Consultancy Accenture
Look for roles in finance with sales aspects. Ex: a lot of regional investment banks and private equity groups hire business development roles. You’ll get finance exposure and could potentially rotate to more heavy finance within the firm.
Spotlight instances you were more analytical or worked with numbers on your resume
Get your SIE and series 63/65. You need sponsorship for the series 7 but you can get those without a sponsoring firm.
I never got a job I applied for - you have to get creative. Find out who’s hiring, try and reach out directly. Send a hand written letter. Do the same with recruiters to get them to sell you in a positive light. Do extra curriculars. Self fund some of your exams to show willing.
If you keep throwing CVs into the black abyss you’ll be waiting a long time.
What kind of sales?
Tech sales and real estate investment sales
I’m in the same boat. Transitioning out of sales (Loan Officer, SaaS sales) it’s definitely difficult without lack of hands on experience. I purchased an online course (Training the Street) to become more familiar with modeling/financial statements etc. I also made sure I tailored my resume to be more analyst focused, and less about sales
What stage of your career are you? The younger / greener you are, the easier it will be (and there’s always the MBA path)
We’re talking about IB. A well established path to IB is a top tier MBA. Licenses don’t mean anything (beyond checking a box for the banks that require it)
Agree that non top-tier MBAs are mostly garbage, but that’s pretty we’ll known here
