Hi everyone!
Debating between an offer from 200 employee company vs Zoom (the company).
The smaller company has good benefits, great wlb and a great culture per Glassdoor reviews. But its an HR software and not easy to sell.
Compensation is similar.
Never worked in a big company like zoom before, what are the pros, and the drawbacks?

I live roughly the same distance to the west of Hall and 75 as you are to the east. I definitely like the proximity to the shopping, uptown and downtown. As another user said areas to the east of 75 are a bit sus. 7-11 on 75 and Lemmon is the hotspot for homeless and there have been shootings and break-ins in the area. However it is not as crazy as downtown Chicago or SF and definitely safer than those cities.
I can't really speak about the management of the building though but if it is an older building then you definitely need to have a supportive management for any maintenance and repairs.
It’s not the worst area but I certainly wouldn’t want to walk around there by myself. If you can get out of the lease look closer to Greenville or Uptown. I lived in The Village apartments for years and loved it there.
If not, you’ll be fine for a year and then move.
The east side of 75 is slightly less desirable then across the highway but would hardly call that a bad area. Can't speak to management co.
Landlord is going to have a duty to mitigate if you terminate. They may try to go after you in JP court (which is Texas version of a small claims court that includes landlord Tennant cases) but damages may not be there if they are able to quickly lease the unit.
If you go to https://communitycrimemap.com/ you will see that a lot of the apartment complexes experience some degree of auto break ins and theft. Biggest piece of advice is to ALWAYS lock your car and NEVER leave valuables in your car. Also do not leave bags of stuff in your backseat (thiefs view it as a mystery bag of stuff). If you pull the reports for these break ins more often than not the owner forgot to do one of these two things.
It can be a rougher area, but it ebbs and flows. It’s not horrible. It’s like anything near the downtown of a large city; you can have good, bad, and ugly all in a single day.
Why do you want to terminate? What does your lease say?
Couple of reasons, there is a new management apparently and all reviews have been bad since they took over (i.e rude, unresponsive and not helpful etc…). I started experiencing that once I signed the lease. Also, it seems like there has been car break ins in their garage, drive by shootings and a lot of homeless people. The reviews could be exaggerating but I am not sure since I am not familiar with the area (It’s by Hall street and Munger Ave btw if anyone is familiar with it and can share their thoughts). There is an early termination clause that was kinda vague but not sure it applies to me, which is why I am thinking about hiring a lawyer.
Hell we even got all that crazy shit by the lake, too.
The more south you go the worse it gets
