Executive dysfunction is so annoying. Not only am I avoiding things I don't want to do, I'm also avoiding things I DO want to do, things that make me feel good or that I need.

Just saw an I retesting presentation that ADHDers aren’t motivated by important. We are motivated by new things.
Maybe what we can do is find something new to do that feels good. Check out a new gym or park, different cafe, different hobby or meetup group

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Sometimes even the things we want to do are just such a struggle to actually sit down and do.

Been there done that. That is exactly what I do an dit drives me nuts. Its gotten much better since I got put on meds though. i have been on adderall for about 3 months now and I am getting WAY more done than I was before.

Hi Fishes, good day! I currently work for Oracle Cloud ERP, as a cloud Analyst ( 1 yoe ). Although, I want to move into cloud engineer/architect role. I am an year experienced working in data field. I recently switched to another company where my mentor is has a Chinese English accent and that is very difficult to understand. Due to which it takes me a lot of time to dig around about things that he says and finish the task. It might come of as I don't finish the task in given time span. Can anyone relate with my situation and suggest on how to get out of this? P.S. there is nobody else in the data team to go for help other than him.

Hi y’all! Hope this is the right bowl to post this question and get advice. I am dealing with an employer that preaches our values. The owner states that the values are important to her etc yet my manager violates these values and is involved in unethical behavior frequently. Example 1: My manager has told specialists (resourcers) that she will pay them under the table in order for her (manager) to get full credit vs splitfor the placement and therefore (barely) hit her target for the quarter.

The fdbk I received all seems directly tied to my emotional dysregulation that I am just putting a name to let alone not knowing how to fix it (because if I knew that it wouldn't be a problem).

I have a manager that does not seem to understand mental illnesses, disorders, etc. He thinks I am making excuses rather than trying to explain things (I have diagnosed ADHD, anxiety, and depression) and I’m trying to take ownership for issues but also help him understand what I am describing better as well. We are sitting down for a conversation later this week. Any advice on how to gently educate or help with his understanding of neurodivergence and other mental health considerations?

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12. My family did not opt to put me on medication. I illegally discovered Adderall in college. Worked incredible. Got diagnosed after college & after having been fired from my first job. Passed the CPA exams on Adderall. Went off of it again. I do everything well at my job except for attention to detail within my excel files & emails. Will taking ADHD medication really fix this? Does anyone else have this issue and was it resolved by taking medication?

Hey so like - newfound reason for my procrastination since I got on Ritalin - a tendency towards "putting things off so I can enjoy the hyperfocus later". When I just started taking the meds I was super effective for a few weeks but now my brain seems to be figuring out ways around the drugs 🤦🏻‍♀️ any ideas on how to not fall back into procrastination behaviours?

I just wanna say that my head feels better since I take lion's mane extract. I stopped zoning out, I have less narrations in my head simultaneously. I can actually do tasks on almost time. If someone wants to try, it's mandatory to take vitamin c with it. It's a life changer for me. I wanted to share it.

Currently at Bain, and while I feeling so lucky to be here and enjoying it. I feel lost. I don’t know what’s next for me. No other company seems interesting to me and I feel kinda complaisant.

Also feeling a FOMO is taking over my head. That my other colleagues/classmates are doing much better :(

I’ve taken Adderall for several years & it has helped a lot for my ADHD. However, recently I have been increasingly overwhelmed with balancing work, school, & home life. I am really struggling to manage my symptoms even while taking the maximum ER dosage. I recently started taking Strattera as well, but haven’t noticed much improvement. My doctor has suggested switching to Vyvanse instead. What are your thoughts on Vyvanse vs Adderall? Has anyone has had more success with it?

❗️PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION FOUND IN DRUG TEST❗️As expected, it was found in a drug test as part of a background check for a conditional job offer. Hireright called me & asked me for the name of my medication, name of pharmacy & their phone number. I called my pharmacy (big retail pharmacy) & they said they don’t give medical info to anyone that’s not my doctor … I’m afraid my offer will be rescinded. I’m freaking out. Has this happened to anyone? What do I do?

I feel like the parts of ADHD that don't suck aren't talked about that much (and I need a reminder, desperately). The one thing I like is my ability (when I can get my brain to work) to focus hard and get something done in a short amount of time. If I'm really locked in, I can get a serious amount of work done fast. feel free to add yours (please lmao💀).
