Executive title equivalents for consulting?
A lot of applications/forms/networking groups for give choices for title that don’t include consulting. What would you say is the equivalent of partner, for example?
- director
- AVP
- VP
- SVP
- EVP

Because organizations are different, there's not a one-size-fits-all answer. However, a quick reference point I use with clients is to "translate" the title based on the number of people and size of the budget managed as well as the level of decision making authority when compared to what would be normal in an organization of similar size.

I’d choose director or just executive or “other”.

If completing a form with multiple choice answers, its use is most likely only for getting your name on a list or getting demographics for marketing purposes, so it doesn’t really matter

Have virtual interviews tomorrow and Friday (both with same company) - I know 150% if I got an offer, I would not accept. Had a ton of coaching meetings this week regarding a different offer I’ve been considering and I don’t want to leave my current place of work. Cancel tomorrow and Friday interviews or no cancel and potentially get an offer and decline? (I am fairly busy so biggest opportunity cost is my time and having to wfh to do video interviews during the workday)

How do you overcome humility at job interviews?
I haven’t been at the market for 8 years, and I am struggling with bragging a lot. I don’t even know where it comes from but I downplay my achievements a lot. I practice Buddhism and bragging is not the best trait for a Buddhist for sure. But downplaying is not a Buddhist trait too.
So I guess the question here is how to reframe bragging into something more acceptable...

I'm struggling with imposter syndrome. I'm from a working class background, c.10 years exp in marketing & c.3 years in snr leadership. I'm in an exe leadership team with all men. It's all very fluid. Frequent restructures. Bitching/gossiping at snr level.

I feel like I'm not good enough, dynamic enough, doing enough. I ask open qz, probing for feedback. It all seems positive/constructive. With the toxicity, I don't trust any of it. Does anyone have any suggestions to navigate and overcome IS?

So I have recently joined a startup in the EV space. It's a SPAC, so it's a crazy ride. I interviewed for a top HR job, but they offered me a second-in-command opportunity, and I took it. Overall, I love it. However, I recently got an opportunity to join crypto-NFT startup as a top HR. My current startup is well funded, sales could be better, but we just acquired a company to help us to progress with them. The leadership team is strong, but a bit on the boomer-ish side of things.

Had a remote member of our greater group of companies pass away suddenly last night. Will sit down with my in-person team tomorrow AM and then phone all my remote folks. They have not been closely connected directly but know of this person, on the other side of the country. It will be about letting them know, letting them react as they need, helping them have resources if they want, and being there. Honestly this is the hardest part of leading a team. Puts the rest of the stuff in perspective.
