It's a bit early for most Corporate Strategy Senior Analyst positions at F500s. Most people i've seen leave with your tenure have gone the startup route

like

Thank you! A startup could be super interesting

You should have a lot more options once you hit the two year mark. Plenty of analyst/associate positions in industry depending on what you want to do. I just jumped ship recently

Well. PE is probably going to be very tough. So good thing you’re not into that. What are you interested in?

I’m interested in social impact work and maybe startups (don’t have much exposure to startups though)

Under 2 YOE and it’s tough to get non-entry level roles. Startups could be an option, but be cautious here - there are earlier-stage companies that have tighter belts and will compromise on candidate qualifications because they can’t pay market rates. Kind of a vicious cycle at that point.

helpful

Larger companies, startups… definitely better if you have 2+ YOE though. What are you interested in? Role wise and industry?

Role wise I’m most interested in strategy positions, but I don’t think that’s remotely realistic with only 1.5 YOE. Honestly not sure what type of role I can get with my (low) tenure :(

What experience do you have? 1.5 seems early for an exit

1.5 years general consulting experience (mix of industries and capabilities)

I know that compensation varies a lot by industry, company, geography, practice area, etc, but what are the higher end (I guess 75th-100th percentile) total comp figures for in-house folks (approx 6-8 years experience) at larger, well-compensated companies? I’m quite underpaid in my current in-house role (155k base, 10% bonus, no equity) and have strong experience (top 3 school, 5 yrs in V10 Biglaw, reputable current employer), and am looking for new in-house roles with market-leading comp.

FAANG Exit to MBB? 3.5 YOE, Non-technical, 150k TC Been at Alphabet my entire career post-undergrad. Managed to move from Google to a well-respected Bet where I’m very happy. What would it look like (from a TC + long term career standpoint) to switch over to MBB for a year or two then go back to FAANG?

So I started at a new role at a known retailer about 2 months ago. I am their first hire in this role, as I have more than 5 years of relevant experience leading initiatives and optimizing process across departments. While I understand it takes time to adjust to the culture, its seems like all I have witnessed is resistance to change. I already feel myself not wanting to be here long, but I'm putting pressure on myself to not be a quitter. Would you stick it out or start looking?

Can I reach I directly to the hiring manager about a role With their team? I found a role I am really excited about. I have managed to secure a general referral but from previous experience I know that’s not always a guarantee. The HM posted the role on his LinkedIn two weeks ago and I am interested. Is this uncouth and will this result in me being blacklisted ?
