Commercial arbitration? International litigation? I’m in the same boat, thinking about options

Tribunal Secretary could also be an option

Interested in learning why you are looking for options? I work in intl arb too, mostly doing commercial arb at the moment but would like to up my workload of investor state cases.

I’ve seen mostly women moving out of firms. Women partners in that practice (from Arnold Porter, White & Case etc) setting up their own solo practice as arbitrator (which they started building while still at firms), many others going into third party funding, and a few associates also going in house at tech companies (not sure how they were able to sell the arb experience but maybe small tech companies are more flexible, they might value language skills, etc)

My dilemma… I am an injury adjuster at a carrier experiencing high inventory that’s barely manageable. A competitor offered a higher salary and manageable workload. BUT, I would like to get into underwriting. I applied for UW position w/ a different carrier and they’ve made an offer. It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Do I take the high salary and stay in claims or go for UW in hopes it will be best in long run?

Got an offer with a 35% bump doing similar work and with the option with some remote (usually work in the office full time). Commute is a tad longer and its a small, young firm. I’ve always worked for the big guys — Deloitte, ACN. I guess the worry is the unknown of a small firm with only a handful of contracts. Granted I do hold a TS/SCI w/ poly, so if it goes bust I should be fine job security wise. Go for it?
