Thoughts on making a move as a Exp SC or waiting until likely Manager promo at YE 2021? Non b4 advisory role with bulk of exp in Internal Audit and SOX. Have tried to get staffed on more diverse projects with little success over the last 4y. Pretty disheartened with current trajectory and project work. Any advice appreciated.
Looking to switch from big 4 to mid-sized/regional after 9 months as a staff 1. Foreseeable issues?
Hey Big 4/ PA fish, when you write financial statements and footnotes for a company (technical accounting work), do you use PDF or word?
Have an opportunity to be a loaned staff for a company I find really interesting for 2 years. Should I be cautious of this? Seems like a good opportunity but I’d likely miss out on the typical career progression of a big 4 firm
Let’s say average B4 first year partner draw is $400k with 5th yr average being $550k. Does anyone agree or disagree strongly with the below very general averages: Tier 2 (GT/BDO/RSM) - yr1 $325k; yr5 $400k Tier 3 (ranking 7-20) - yr1 $275k; yr5 $350 Regionals - yr1 $225k; yr5 $300k I’m trying gauge what the long term comp difference would be at different firms assuming all other factors equal. TIA fishes!!
I’m wondering what Accenture is actually doing. Is it more like a Big 4 Firm, doing theoretical consulting things. Or is it more a IT-Service/ Outsourcing company like Connection, Atos, Bechtle, etc. doing hands on technical things? Where is the main focus on?
How can the Big 4 expect analysts to work so many hours for not much pay? $70k starting salary with no bonus potential working 12 hours per day when industry jobs pay slightly less and are 9-5?
Started with big 4, now at BDO.. work in IT audit (have had very successful fast tracked career in IT audit) and at Manager rank. Interested in moving over more-so to cyber security type consulting and escaping the IT audit prison (aren’t we all lol). Any advice on education / certificate requirements on how to transition more-so into cyber type space?
Need ethics/moral help from my fellow 🐟 I got laid off from ACN earlier this year. I accepted an offer and started at a boutique consulting firm exactly one month ago today. This morning, I got an email from Deloitte recruiting for the same position I’m in now, which is where I want to develop my career. Part of me wants a break from the big consulting firms, but at the same time, going to a Big 4 would feel more at home to me. Is it worth entertaining the offer, or should I just stay away?
Currently a PhD at a M7. Veteran, and obviously used to be at EY. Currently in qualifying phase and starting to looking to post-PhD life. How do the firms differ in how they treat advanced degrees (ie stick to PhD area or are you a generalist)? How do federal vs commercial practices differ when recruiting advanced degrees? I recognize that there might be a pay differential (pay isn’t important, I don’t want to go back to B4 due to tax/consulting dichotomy), just would be great to be federal.
I'm a young analyst in ACN with 1+ year of experience in cloud migrations. I've received a very good job offer by another Big 4 in the same sector and service but with better career growth opportunities. I don't like to work in cloud service and also I don't like the banking sector. For this reason, I requested to be moved in another service in ACN. My manager said ok, but this probably takes several months. Next monday I have to provide a feedback to the other company. What would you do?

Maybe it’s burnout from a job where all the cool work benefits you could brag to your friends about are gone bc you wfh now and don’t have access to your cool office and now you work around the clock because there’s no separation between home and work and your agency has done next to nothing to help with that balance and you’ve billed more hours per week than you ever had and now your friends and family are starting to comment on your workload, health, and demeanor. Maybe it’s Maybelline ✨
Any idea when the compensation letters will be released and when does the salary increase actually like in which month?
