Expected base/ equity for a Sr. PM role at a series D startup in a HCOL city?

What are your thoughts on getting a CIPP/US privacy certification? I’m a staff counsel mainly focused on compliance for new regulated and unregulated products. Looking for negotiation advice.

Received an offer with 150k base and 25k bonus. Had a negotiation call where I requested a 10-15% base bump for merit/BATNA reasons. They were receptive.

Follow up call they provided a 13% base increase + an unexpected 41% bonus decrease.

Is this common practice? Any thoughts on countering this? Any specific language you would use?

I realize I never accounted for this scenario and that's on me! Hoping for advice on how best to move forward.

Has anyone ever asked to renegotiate their salary after starting a job? I’m 2 months into my new job and I have far more responsibilities than what I was told. It’s a lot different than what was relayed in the posting and during the interviews. Additionally, they hired my counter part in as a senior manager which is at least $30k more than what I make. My peer has more experience so I expect that but I feel that I should be paid more, however I don’t want to leave a bad impression… any advice?

Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. Later I found out she had tried for the exec assistant role and they didn’t choose her, they wanted me instead.

If you're looking for help with technology for your startup, you may want to consider hiring a technical advisor. They can do things like coordinate with engineers, build and grow teams, do a SWOT analysis of your current state, assist with build vs buy decisions, recommend technologies etc. It's a great way to bring in someone to fill a gap until you find a technical cofounder.
