Expecting promotion this December, but not too satisfied with the work and manager I am working with. Should I start looking for transfer/jobs or wait until I get the promotion and move? Any advice?

If you wanna move to a competition, definitely stay so you are moving with new title and you will get a raise on top of a raise

Stay until promotion

Wait. If you feel the same once you get promoted, then your exit ops are better.

We have our nanny a 10% pay raise in September to mark her two year anniversary with us (amounted to something like $2.50 more per hour). We were expecting (I was seven months pregnant at the time) and I told her it was (1) annual raise but (2) would also cover the fact that she’d be taking care of another baby. This morning she asks us whether we can talk about her raise now that she’ll be watching an extra kid. I awkwardly was like “well that’s what the prior raise covers” and she (contd)

What would you do ? 26 years old, work 9 to 9, work weekends, take an extra load because you can to get to the next promotion. Or work normal hours, workout, enjoy time with family, advance normally.

I love how strong our talent pool is. I don't love being rated "average". Even though that means on track for promotion, it's annoying.

How do you respond to "What do you want to do?", asked asked by a partner? I joined consulting as part of an acquisition, never really wanted this career. I honestly just want to make money and get promoted for the experience. I've really enjoyed my time at a B4 and have learned a ton but am not partner track. Is it bad to admit I'm not looking to make partner? Will that hurt my promotion to manager chances? Do I need to tell him something more specific than "I want to make manager?"

JP does it again. Would be interesting to see if big 4 would be making any adjustments to pay scale as well. Hint *EY* for mid year raise.

Currently live rent free MCOL in a decent size one bedroom apt approx 780 sq ft. We are due with our first baby in August. We will ultimately need /want a house within the next year and a half. With interest rates set to raise and no end in sight with inflation... Do we buy now or wait it out as long as possible? Giving up free rent ☹️. This is keeping me up at night yall. Hellllp.

I just started at a new company 2 months ago with the expectation of having 3-4 people on my team. However, my team size will be increasing to 7. I don’t really want to rock the boat so early at my new job especially since I’m still in the “drinking from the firehose” phase, but this is going to be a significant increase in responsibility. We only have pay review in January of each year. Would it be crazy to ask about a raise later this month?

Glory to God. After a long battle of advocating for my own career advancement while being under a team who intentionally did not support my advancement/career growth, I finally***** got promoted. With a 10% raise. It was a battle but I stayed faithful to Gods word and sought the kingdom first. Again. ALL. Glory. To. God. 🙌🏽🙌🏽 1 Peter 5:6 God will exalt you in due time if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand...

I was offered a large raise/promotion at my current company (Series A Funded, been here since seed round). I have the option to do stock or cash or a combo. Anyone have an idea on what to do for something like this? We have good funding and are considered a first mover in our vertical. It's SaaS but we are having issues figuring out our business model and product. We have a lot of F100 customers though. any suggestions?
