Your question is inherently sexist. You treat people with equal respect and professionalism. What do you mean by implying gender-based pitfalls/benefits??
One time I told a male partner he was being sexist and he told me I was wrong. Don't do that. Ask why.
Yes there are benefits. If you’re selling a product that skews toward women, they’ll have a ton of insight that you don’t. If you’re selling a product that’s neutral, they’ll have a ton of insight you don’t. Pitfalls? You might get called sexist for asking innocent questions
the best partners I’ve had were women. actually cared about the work, didn’t do that weird “hey I’m obviously way more dominant here so we’re doing everything I want the way I want” thing, could navigate office politics because they didn’t have the emotional intelligence of a child, and were just plain awesome.
we desperately need more women in creative, i’m personally tired of having to work with dudes and I am one so I can’t even imagine what it’s like on the other side haha.
Treat them like you would want to be treated and you’ll be right as rain. Styles may differ, but respect is for everyone
It’s always nice to have someone who looks at the same problem differently. Gender, race, faith, whatever it is
Yeah maybe don’t say “twat” or “hoes” so much
Guys don’t be so mean. It’s how I feel when I’m forced to work with a straight male. How do I even relate to another human being? How many pitfalls must I avoid? 🤷🏽♂️
Maybe cut him a little slack?
Just do the work. Be the best creative partner. If you want to get involved with them platonically or romantically then make sure you know that will change the partnership.
I won’t jump down your throat for asking because it seems like you’re genuinely curious/unsure about a move in your career. It’s no different than a same sex creative partner. I’ve worked with my current partner for 4 years, she’s one of the smartest people I know and has an eye for design I could never match. I wouldn’t worry about the gender thing, mostly you should pay attention to whether their personality and skill set complements you or not. Basically, will they make you better in areas you need to be better and can you work 14 straight hours with them and not wanna kill them? The only difference I’ve seen between my 2 female partners and my 2 male ones is that my female partners have typically been more collaborative, which is a plus.
Guys cut him so slack . No judgements. I’m sure you guys have questions like this with your advertising friends when your out for drinks.
I had less in common with my female partners than with fellow males, but I actually liked that. If anything it helped us not talk about UFC for hours and focus on the work!
@72andSunny1 🙌🏻
No one has ever asked me if I was sleeping with my same-sex partners. Opposite sex partners...it was almost assumed. Yes. In 2018. Good partners become like marriages. You connect, get excited to make something together, mourn the death of good creativity together. You shoot together, hopefully all over the world and sometimes you even spend more time with them than your actual spouse. It can backfire at home or at work pretty easily. But again, no one has ever questioned my relationship with a same-sex partner, even when we very close friends.
@sc1 sounds sexist 🤣
we share memes, it works out great
