Just wanted to share for the veteran dudes and dudettes. There are others out there who recognize what you are capable of. Don’t settle for what the LinkedIn talking heads tell you or recruiters who only recruited when they were in service.

Been with company for 2.5 years in a SFA role, and they just let me hire an associate financial analyst reporting into me. My manager never mentioned anything in regards to a promotion, but when I asked, I was told that there will be an evaluation period before any promotion is given. Has anyone else had this before, where you are managing someone but they don’t give you a promotion? Sounds bizarre to me that they allow me to hire someone but then are hesitant to promote.
