Looking for some advice on the following - I want to make a pivot back to client services, specifically advisory/consulting/transaction services. I have 4 years public accounting experience, and 3.5 years manager experience within the corporate controllership function, both technical and SEC reporting related (more technical than SEC). What roles would I be a fit for? Public experience includes tax and audit. EY PwC KPMG Deloitte

Not sure how one sleeps if this is true.
Hi.
A curious case regarding interview at Amazon.
There is a particular opening to which I did not apply.
Got an email saying they want to interview me, with slot options.
I selected slot options and then I got an email for an interview with one of their employees.
Email is from hire_the_best@email.amazon.com
Have tried reaching out to the mentioned employee as well on LinkedIn to check if it is genuine - but haven't received any response.
Have observed this to be a fake incidence in the past.
What say?
Do you need to retain ALL the formulas I’m BEC ?

I left and came back. It's worth it to stay until manager.
It's worth it to have manager experience. Don't just leave right after you get promoted.
Yes, I have. It's a different level of offers you get. I left as a manager 1 and was a controller for a small public company (still large accelerated filer). People that I knew in the same small office that left as seniors moved into senior accountant roles. I got the sense, both when I was in industry and since coming back, that it is much harder to move out of a senior accountant role and into a higher visibility position. Just my two cents.
The experience is what matters more than title. Wherever you go next, they will evaluate you on your experience, not previous titles.
Stay to manager, it's worth it.
You should ask people that have left public, they would probably know better
That is very helpful, EY1. Thank you so much!
I'm getting promoted to Manager 1 on 10/1 but I think I'll get an offer for director of acct + fin at a start up in the next week. In a good spot internally but feel like it would be dumb not to take this for 2/3 years; can always go back to public. High ratings in senior years. I'd rather go partner than CFO long term. Worth it for exp? Need sanity check. Boss would be CEO.
EY 1 - I'm entering my second year as a senior in a smaller market. Less jobs I can jump to the longer I stay if I want to stay in town. I want to stay till manager but almost feel compelled to leave based on the geography. Have you found that, regardless, the manager experience at big 4 is intrinsically with it?
