Have used Lexapro in the past but it did not suit me. That does not mean it won’t work for you. I am using Fluoxetine these days to get through the day. It is generic version of Cymbalta...not tried Benzo.
I do zoloft daily for ssri. Use xanax as needed to fall asleep (I battle with racing thoughts caused by feeling like an imposter in my job and that I am doing terribly). Tried klonopin before but did not like it. It is slow release and does not wear off easily. I felt zombified or just too numb.
I am doing well on lexapro and gabapentin. I was first on zoloft i think but didnt like it.
I take both of those for anxiety and depression. Been on that combo a long time and it's a game changer. But SSRIs vary and some do better on one versus another. You'll need to give lexapro time to do its thing. If you don't see improvement, might need a different one. Klonapin will kick in immediately and for me, .5 lasts 24 hours. I've never needed to increase dose. You might feel sleepy at first.
I tried Lexapro but it made me nauseous which heightened my anxiety. Now I’ve been on Effexor for a decade and I’m great.
I take Bupropion for depression and Lorazepam for anxiety and find both to be highly effective. I experience memory issues with Bupropion, in part because I need a high dose, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff for treating the depression. The Lorazepam has no side effects for me, and a low dose (.5 mg) when needed really does the trick.
You could consider CV Science CBD oil gold softgels. They were recommended by my dr as an alternative to pharmaceuticals.
I eventually went off of gabapentin and replaced it with that.
