Not fair to call women out on this. This is a common problem amongst many leaders regardless of sex. There are just less females in power so the observation set is more concentrated. I'd say this opinion is ripe with confirmation bias. And that's not a personal attack, we all suffer from it.
I'm a woman who has (in the past) been too nice to my teams, because of just that kind of crap comment. I didn't want to be criticized and labeled like this; as one male coworker told me, "how come all women managers are such bitches?" As a result, I got passed up for all kinds of opportunities to lead. After a long time I finally said F it, I have to support a family and I'll do what I can to be recognized as effective. It seems that if women are aggressive, they are criticized like you did in your comment, while for men it's seen as being fair or normal.
...it's like they've got something to prove
Some of the best MDs I've worked for have been women, but also some of the worst. I think everyone has their own issues, it's not really a female thing
Assholes are assholes, regardless of gender. Good people to work for are good people to work for, regardless of gender.
lol I really don't think any women consultants give a shit about being physically equivalent to men..like are they trying to arm wrestle across the conference room table?
Letting go of her campaign staff was nothing new to her haha

Carly took HP to shit, not sure how you based your facts
I'm a man, and I have to say that I've seen female managers be really hard on other women. It's a real thing. Google "queen bee syndrome"
Also I have to add, the Work-Life Fit leaders at my organization are 90% female; they are always pushing for not working after 5:30 PM and getting more time off. It's always the men (usually from the East Coast) who don't care and want everyone to work long hours and weekends. So your comment is completely inaccurate.
Ummm. If it had to be done, it had to be done. Otherwise, if you know they did it as whim, then that's a different issue. But the question is, do you know that? What are your facts?
My best and worst client contacts have been female.
Female managers can be brutal
And men get in dick-measuring contests, it's something a woman is not capable of doing.
Not a mixed bag, women are much more hormonal. Also can't stand the women who think they are physically equivalent to men.
It's a mixed bag. Just like male bosses.
This is 100% true
Disagree. I argue that often it's a different type of dynamic between a female manager and a female subordinate vs. a male manager and a male subordinate. Is this always true? No. But it's a common theme.
I agree there are some brutal female managers out there, but there are some unbelievably tyrannous male managers as well. It's not about gender from my perspective.
