Up to 3, more if needed for mental sanity.
More than 3 weeks consecutive will require special approval, but you can take more than 3 weeks in total. Many teams’ models for utilization assume 5 weeks…at least my SL does.
No issue at all taking time. If you schedule well in advance, I have never had anyone question it.

What are utilization targets at the manager level?
Is there a way to easily check how much PTO you've taken so far in a year? (Key word being *easily*.)
M2 I do watch utilization, but as I've been on the bench I'd like to assess how much of my non-engagement time has been actual PTO.
EY5 that's what I've been doing, but it doesn't make sense that we don't have an efficient company-wide tool that does that so we're not losing productivity (time spent = however many minutes x however many people do this) for something I believe is pretty standard at most companies.
I can take up to 5 weeks in addition to our 2 shutdown weeks and holidays. Assuming I stay fully staffed throughout the year and still beat my full util target.
