EY FAAS vs TAS? What’s the difference in terms of work and pay?

Pay isn’t going to be that different but the work is significantly different, so I would suggest you figure out what you want to do first!

Differential isn’t much 5-10k again depends what you want to do really

FAAS was busy with rev rev changes and then pivoted to new lease rules. Aside from that they consult on various accounting topics and get involved in special projects like carve out financial statements.

TAS invites you to things. EY FAAS doesn’t check lists and excludes their own team members from holiday parties

Lol. Can confirm

Hello! I am an admin professional here with no tech background currently, seeking a position in tech! I am focusing on hr or project/program management for now until I can build up my skill set. What is the average first year senior salary for big 4 advisory in Chicago? I know you will ask for more detail on the type of advisory, but try to ballpark an estimate.

Hi Ladies!! Trying to get a pulse check/sanity check. I’m current a Business Analyst and have been with the same company for 4 years. The benefits are fabulous (unlimited time off and random mental health days) and have the ability to really work from anywhere. Yet, I’m not that excited about the work I do and make a decent salary, but know my market value is higher if I were to leave. Do I chase the money and get something “new” on my resume? Or stay with the comfortability?

What are thoughts on the NYC PSA for What to do in a Nuclear Attack? Why do that now? And the context of the PSA is truly not comforting. Where is this coming from.

I have been at my company for 3.5 years. One year ago (2.5 years into my employment with them) they re-leveled everyone and I was bumped to an entry level position on the terms that they changed my job title when they re-leveled, so “technically” I am at the early stages of my new title. Even though the job duties did not really change.
I’m not sure the best way to approach this. Has anyone else had a similar experience or know how I should advocate for myself?

I'm about to start my H1-B process now.
I have a 2 year-old son who lives with my ex-wife back in my country.
I don't intend to include him in the application right now, since he doesn't live with me, but let's say that one year after I get the H1-B, my ex and I decide to get back together and they want to move to the US. Would it be possible to include them as my dependents then?

I am looking to transition into a product management role with less than 3 years of work experience, none that relates to PM (Operations at Amazon, current:sales). How do I better my chances for PM?

How long is too long to stay at one agency? I’ve been at the same place for a little over 5 years and while I get frustrated by certain things I overall feel challenged and like I’m growing. Is it a red flag for my potential move out of agency life that I’ve put in so much time here?

I have a desk job where I’ll legit sit for 9hrs each day. I used to have hobbies on the computer, like video editing, writing code for side projects, sketching out app ideas. Lately I can’t stand to be at my desk anymore after work. Been watching too much tv instead. More so seems like it’s due to being in the same location for so many hrs each day. Interested in hearing thoughts about separating work desk from personal desk, and other hobbies you picked up to get away from the screen

Managing Partner: I heard it’s your birthday today.

Me, a dumb little Associate: it is.

MP: Well, Happy Birthday.

Me, a dumb little Associate: Thanks, you too.

MP:……awkwardly looks at me with confusion….

Me:…realizing what I just said..it’s not his Bday…slowly wishing I could just die rather than deal with the awkwardness.

Someone point me to the nearest bridge, I am so awkward.

Thoughts on Deloitte’s ARA practice? How does it compare to FAAS, CMAAS, and AAS? Deloitte

Just switched to advisory from audit and kinda regret it. Seems like a bunch of unstructured random tasks that rarely have a hard deadline… which is sadly not my preferred way to work. Everyone says advisory is better so I’m gonna try to stick it out but ugh

Hi everyone, I am looking for ideas on how to pivot out of the usual month end close cycle. A remote job ideally. If you were previously in a similar accounting role and switched, I would love to hear about it as well.

My Accounting background is:

3 years GT Audit - manage small team, manage engagements,

2 years Industry Accounting - manage small team, improve monthly processes, month end close, reconciliations, generate financial reports, generate budget and forecasts
