You should resign in person, not via email. Treasure and nurture your network, and accord those people the respect that you will expect when you are managing people and one of them decides to choose another path.

I told my counselor in person, then the PPED who asked me to send an email resignation to him and the people consultant. Finally I talked to the people consultant. Always inform in person like PwC1 said.
