I have recently started taking courses on coursera to for an ibm cloud full stack developer certificate. Has anyone here received this certificate or know of someone who has? I want to know if this certificate will get me in an entry level developer position somewhere or do I really need a degree to get a career as a developer?
What does it take to go from mid-level to senior level as an in-house brand designer? I'm just beginning year 4 of being mid-level, with ~5 YOE total. I recently made a lateral role change as the founding member of a design team at a startup, excited to have room to grow. CD was hired and we discussed new roles.. we agreed another mid-level would be great. Now due to some over my head things, the role has changed to senior. I've been clear about my desire for growth.
Any tips for asking for a mid year riase when a raise was already given in December/January? (7% for hitting above quota numbers) I started to realize the new external hires on my team make 10-15k higher than me for the same role. I am a top 3 performer but promotions and raises are usally only given based on hitting a certain number and at the EOY and often times that number is very hard to hit given the out of my control situations like acquisitions.

I started a new job in January and have performed well. The person who is a step above me in organizational hierarchy is leaving and my director has recommended me to take the vacant position. This of course comes with more administrative responsibilities along with the work I am currently doing. Director says he will suggest a 10k pay raise, but I believe the added responsibilities should be worth more. Am I wrong asking for 5k more?

Have an opportunity to leave PA after 5 and a half years - I’m currently a first year manager. It’s a FP&A Manager role at a F500. Has anyone made a similar jump? What was your experience like? It’s a great pay jump, but I’m worried I’ll be bored or the work won’t be interesting. Also, leaving the job security of PA right now concerns me a bit.

I'm about 12 weeks pregnant and I really don't like my current agency. I was planning on sticking it out until maternity leave and then bounce shortly after I return but the team is just a mess and I keep getting dragged through the dirt for things that are very much not my responsibility (cough cough copy.) I’m staffed on a case going to trial in a few weeks, and another associate is also on the case. We’re both mid levels. One of the partners told me the other associate’s work was bad, so for efficiency he wants me to review and edit all of the other associate’s work product (including draft motions) and bring it up to standard before the partners see it. How is this possible? I can’t see myself having time to do any assignments of my own if I have to review the all of other associate’s work.

If I have a client that discounted their product to drive sales (in a few different cities to test price elasticity), then now will return to original pricing. How would you forecast that? I believe it would be important to make sure the discounted pricing isn’t skewing the future forecasts, but would I just not consider them or need to apply a formula to normalize them? Client only uses excel and historical data.
