Ask = Any advice on how much I should invest in crypto and where to start? Background = 68K in a HYSA. 16K = emergency fund. I want to buy a car in December (for personal use and to put on Turo since I’m WFH) and I’m looking into renting a property that I can put on Air BnB. I am also looking into buying a vending machine. I currently max out my Roth and 401K. No HSA because I’m on my mom’s insurance.
How do you figure out what % of your paycheck is the max you can contribute in 401K without exceeding limits? $106K is the annual pay

Just wanted to ask if any auditors or technical accounting folks have any opinion on the benefits (for seed round stage) SaaS companies capitalizing their R&D expenditures, in the balance sheet, then amortizing the "asset" and then regularly having to defend the carrying values of the Intangible Asset??

How many kids do you want? Or have? I get the logic of having more than one so they can have siblings, but I’m curious why people decide on a specific number (2,3 etc.)

EY High Deductible Health Plan vs Open Access Select (don’t have EY bowl access yet) I just started at the firm and am trying to pick my healthcare. I don’t really ever go to the Dr so I’m thinking of getting the High Deductible plan. My question is, what does it mean that it’s not a “national network (Is this a national network?: No)” but it’s “network coverage: see any licensed doctor”? Those seem to contradict. Also HSA vs FSA, as a healthy 26yo, which is right for me (High D only has HSA)
Has anyone seen the Walmart spot where the mom buys new pacifiers and sippy cups every time the baby drops them on the floor or the dog gets one? Clearly no actual parents on that team...
How much were your total out of pocket costs to deliver a baby? Assuming no complications as I know with complications it can vary quite a bit. Want to compare what perks FAANG vs Big4 vs other firms have.

Did you transfer your 401k from your ex-employer to your current employer? If not, what did you do with it? I’m so lost. It’s my first time switching jobs. I have money in my spending account too. How should I spend it in the last 2 weeks?

Hello fish. Looking for healthcare industry roles in Houston or Dallas. Currently a strategy consultant with experience in the payer and government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, vbc) space.
I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!

About to have a baby in next April! Just wonder how much it costs to give birth to a baby with insurance coverage? And when is a good time to let the team know you are pregnant?
Do we get a severance package for getting laid off due to chargeability? If so, how much?
Not trying to start an argument, actually just curious, but isnt the whole pronoun thing being taken overboard? I would think it really only applies to people who are transitioning because you want to be respectful of that person. But like…old bald man Bob in accounting…we know ur a dude. Also, I have a gender neutral name myself (im a guy) but couldn’t care less if someone accidentally thought I was a woman over an email or even in person. Curious to hear peoples thoughts.
Has anyone taken one of those online executive courses, like the Harvard Extension School offers? Looking to use my $5k of tuition reimbursement and already have an MBA. Worth it? Best programs?
Question for immigrating generation parents or people with traditionally conservative mindsets raising daughters in this country. How have you reconciled your traditional mindset and perhaps ideas on conservative dressing, piercings, ink etc with a daughter who is increasingly interested in it and headed into her teens. I do think body positivity is important but I'm also stuck maybe a generation behind where it comes to looking professional. What was your approach? (im the father if it matters)
Team member on project, "You're not like most black people out there..." "How many black people do you know?" I said. "....not that many personally if I'm to be honest." Me: "Oh..👀" *subject change*

Senior admin assistant at the client has been organizing all our meetings. What is a safe drink (coffee/other) to buy for her? I don’t want to ask what she wants because she will refuse it. Options?
I’m convinced that while practice does help, case studies are fundamentally designed to evaluate your critical thinking skills and IQ — which are immutable qualities. No matter how many mock cases I do, I can’t seem to figure out how they work and therefore can’t crack any interviews (10+ tries). I don’t think I’m as smart as I once thought 😕😕
Slalom 🐠 any insights on the interview process for the Customer Strategy consultant role?
My firm recently merged with another firm, and it is starting to feel distinctly more “corporate.” All of their decisions are metric-driven now—billables, realization rates, client and matter origination, business development hours. I’m missing the community feeling of the old firm, when I was more than just a number. Any advice on how to adapt? Is this just COVID burnout?
Hi all, have been approached about an interesting buyside opportunity but have a few q’s. I’ve currently got a role in an alts investment team (pe primaries, and a little secondaries) at a bulge that pays well starting in Jan. New offer is at a sub-$1bn fund and a bit hybrid investment team and firm strategy. Does anyone have insight to the Secondaries/Primaires comp range from VP up (salaries, bonus, carry, etc)? How is the culture vs direct PE? Thoughts on big firm vs small fund over time?

PM wants local consultant on site even when test of team is remote. Fair or no? Local consultants are balking bc they have unreimbursed hour long commute, no per diem, no meetings with client.
