KPMG for the culture alone
KPMG consistently has been rated the lowest hours, and most relaxed, I would only go elsewhere if I were to get a massive raise, same pay? I’m staying.
As someone who’s been at another big4 before coming here
Not sure where in the world you are, but if you’re in the US market doing most of what people consulting does, it is EY. In some places in the world KPMG plays from a brand and capability perspective.
As someone who works in PAS and has friends at KPMG HCA, go with KPMG. The culture is better much.
Probably classic case of grass is always greener
HCA has been a positive experience for me so far since I joined the firm.
I agree that we may not have the biggest brand name clients and/or not the most profitable, but I personally think the opportunities and investment from leaders in the practice have been amazing! Everyone is also super helpful and supportive. It definitely is a safe space to grow and learn.
What position are you in @ HCA? I am planning to join
I’ve heard that those at EY are severely underpaid. I would go for whichever offers the most.
This is shortsighted. Money is cold comfort when you don’t like the people you work with.
Companies will usually have people recruit who are the partners favorites and they’ve been promoted quickly. They’re always going to speak well of the organization.
Ask about unwanted attrition. Talk with people who recently left the firm. Ask about how to become part of the power networks so your development continues over time.
Don’t just go for the money. Pick the organization where you’ll enjoy working.
