EY strategy folks: What is your group like in terms of the work you do, duration of a project, competency amongst peers, and pay structure? This is for FSO NYC.

If you want to do non billable workshops and sit on the bench to churn out proposals then strategy is the group for you!

like

I think you would probably align to one upon joining. FYI though the groups haven't been doing great.

like

EY2 - to be fair a lot of the "strategy" people will have high utilization because they were all put on AML in St Louis six days a week...

like

FSO Strategy .. Lots of lunch and learns!

like

Non-FSO strategy does much better than fso strategy. Projects are pretty cool and smart people. I believe the group is ~300, almost no Staff and very senior/manager heavy

like

Fully aware, I'm in St. Louis 🤐

like

Ey2, same at PWCz lots of hem got pushed out to Virginia and Around nyc for AML.

like

But yeah for the amount of work they've actually sold, they tend to have quite over-inflated egos with their additional case interviews to join their proposal teams and stuff and their pretending like they're a McKinsey competitor

like

Also, on the site it lists 4 sub-divisions, growth and innovation, purpose led xformation, digital enterprise strat, and rapid profit xformation. Are these different groups or service offerings?

like

FSO is just financial services and National is all the other industries.

like

If you want to do legit strategy at EY, try for Parthenon

Thanks for the input, will see what the recruiters say

And if the group is actually good. Gonna report back for y'all lovelies

I don't know how FSO Strategy is doing, but for those of us in National Advisory, it's just fine. The sub-divisions you mention are offerings. We have sub-groups in Strategy, but they don't matter as much. They're Corporate & Growth Strategy, Transformation, Digital and Enterprise Experience, and Sales and Service.

What's the distinction between FSO strategy and national advisory?

One is in FSO, which is the financial services group that is kind of like EY within EY--they have their own version of everything, dedicated to FS. It's a different BU from National Advisory

Wow 300 is actually pretty big

I'd like to get out of FS, this might be a fruitful discussion

If any of y'all in national advisory want to have a talk, hit me up. Burner fishballs5551gmail.com
