SC brings up another point, do you let your team and supervisors know you are in recovery? I have always lived by the adage I may be the only Big Book anyone sees, so I always let my co-workers and management know I'm in recovery. I'm also a DCM so it helps book time off to go to Area Assemblies.

A client contact has sent me a few texts, some trying to get me to come to events and a happy holiday text (sent at 2am). I haven't responded. Do I just hope he stops or do I say something?

Holiday travel plans got cancelled so looking for family activities/destinations in NYC and surrounding areas (anywhere reachable by car) for the holidays on short notice. Nothing crazy expensive ($500/night for 3-4 nights) but hopefully with fun activities available. Any ideas?

I’m a new associate to a T&E group, partner goes away on vacation and leaves me with a 706 to review and sign. The family is very wealthy. Decedent married for 60 years. Partner says it’s “just a DSUE election, decedent was ill for years, no assets.” Provides no records. Not even an admission the decedent owned a toothbrush. So I looked up the decedent’s home - it’s a joint asset. Partner was “surprised”, and still insists “no other assets”. I found file references to art and antiques.

I’m happy to report Juneteenth will be recognized at my firm as a paid holiday beginning in 2023. Yes, I had to have the conversation with HR this morning. ✊🏾

Debate:
If you’re interviewing for a new position outside the firm and the interviewer is unavailable after your billable hours (staff augmentation project). Typically for appointments (dentist, doctor), we make up the time outside of working hours. Would you A) block off the time on your calendar as an appointment and make up the 30 min outside of normal working hours
OR B) take 30 minutes of PTO for interview

I’m planning to have ~30k left after maxing out my 401k and IRA to invest. However, I’m not sure whether to save it up for an Airbnb down payment (10% vacation home down payment) or just put it to vtsax. Any advice?

For those with CPG clients, what are your biggest challenges with the upcoming holiday season?

Have an offer I’m going to take start date Dec 13th. Have 360 hours of PTO (don’t ask how I have that much). Was going to take it all at once and take two months between jobs but was advised not to give notice in the middle of an extended PTO like that as it would look bad. What do you guys think? Alternative is I take October and come back in November for 2 weeks to get bonus and then give notice.

If I pay for 4 SPG nights with points will that count as SPG nights? I'm at 71 nights on year and want to get to 75. Done with work for year but have 5 night vacation at SPG coming up.

Hey CDs, do you find it stressful to have creative teams that just don’t bring it. I have a couple that consistently table interesting and well crafted ideas and a couple that don’t and I feel I need to take up the slack. So my husband and I decided to go back to our original plan and starting to try for a baby next month. My daughter will be 18 months old and it’s been a struggle with work and her in general with covid and no daycare or outside help.
