McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hey everyone -
Not the exact right bowl, but looking for advice/referrals for a close family friend trying to break into ESG/climate change/sustainability consulting.
They have ~7 YOE in finance (mostly junk debt, some S&T) and 20 YOE in development banking at an IGO (think World Bank, doing everything from public debt offerings, infrastructure, etc. all w heavy ESG/compliance requirements).
Thanks for the help!

This is more on the PCOS side. Ask them to check your free testosterone levels and insulin resistance as that can affect egg quality. (But you really should have an RE interpret the numbers, because the acceptable range is much narrower for someone trying to conceive).
Not related to either, but might also ask PCP to check your thyroid levels. As my RE put it, it isn't related to getting pregnant but is related to staying pregnant. Same caveat as above acceptable range is more stringent for someone trying to conceive.

Your doctor should figure out the tests based on the scenario you describe. That’s why they went to medical school. Don’t confuse your ability to google and post online with their years of education and clinical experience.
You should describe your diet and fertility goals and ask:
What preconception tests would you recommend
What changes to diet (eg prenatal vitamin) and lifestyle
Given PCOS should I work with you or a specialist through this (especially if they are not an Obgyn)
Should I use any cycle monitoring (eg ovulation predictor tests)? If so, are there products you recommend
At what point should I come back to you or see a specialist if not pregnant
Agree with insulin resistance as well as progesterone levels if possible (I have PCOS and low progesterone caused my first miscarriage. Supplemented the second time and now I’m 23 weeks).
Your doctor probably won’t tell you this but not a bad idea to look into your own ovulation schedule with LH strips on a regular basis to make sure you are ovulating.
