Recently received an offer (out of the blue) midway through an interview process, and was a bit in shock - was told there would be a technical and additional steps. (External) recruiter was very aggressive and tried pushing me into a decision on the spot. Told them I needed to think about it and see the formal offer. Got a call from the hiring manager saying they were concerned about my “lack of enthusiasm” and that I shouldn’t share too much info with recruiters. How do I proceed?
I read somewhere that it’s close to impossible to get an interview Google unless someone refers you. Is there credence to that? Thanks!
Is it reasonable to ask for a company to cover travel expenses for an on-site if I live in a different state? Or to ask for a remote interview if they don't want to spend the $?
How do I not feel bad that I’m interviewing at another firm? I haven’t told my manager or team anything, and I really like them and don’t want to leave them hanging, so it feels like I’m betraying their trust. I know that I’ll have to at some point. Any advice?
How can I gracefully get out of an interview without burning bridge? Thought I was interviewing with 1 person and would be good practice. Turns out it’s 5 people for 4hrs. Not sure if it’s worth it...
For L1 visa (intracompany transfer one to the US) do you have to attend an interview in the consulate located in the country of your citizenship or residence (assuming these two differ)?
I have an interview to go in-house tomorrow with a startup. Should I still wear a suit/tie, or is that too formal?
Has anyone interviewed for Coinbase or Kraken for their accounting positions? How competitive is this space?
Offer $49/hr case and interview coaching (less than 1/3 of even the cheapest online coaching). Background of myself: B4 consulting -> Tier 2 Strategy -> MBB PE practice in the last 4 years. Interviewed with almost all major consulting firms in school and when lateraling.
Have an Uber final round via zoom yet their whole interview lineup sits in my location. Is this typical? Starting to get spooked and thinking they’re using me for free analyst resources
Hey googlers, quick question on offer expectations, I just completed the process for a GCP TAM role and out of the 4 interviews 3 went excellent but the one case study was okay, I wasn’t able to answer a couple of questions out of 6 properly. So 3 questions for you all: 1. Do we need to get a Hire/Leaning Hire for all interviews to make it to HC? 2. Does the Hiring Manager have a higher weightage on offer approval? 3. Can having one bad interview affect leveling directly? Google
I am a recent law clerk (woc) applying for AUSA positions. Any advice on how to stand out? Any successful stories out there currently working as an AUSA?
I am doing UXR interviews, and although I have read that a background in design is not required for UXR, I have been asked a few times now what my design experience is, and if I know how to use design apps. I have ample research experience and a solid understanding of product development cycles, which I think should be enough to land me a UXR role, but is it? I would love to hear from folk whether it’d be worth taking a few design courses!
Preparing for a case interview that sounds like it’s pretty quant/mental math heavy. Any suggestions on how to learn the quant/calculation aspect in a reasonable amount of time. Any good resources? I looked online but most of them seem to cost money. Thanks!
Are Exit interviews A waste of time ? Are they an opportunity to learn what you could have done to keep your team members a bit longer, or are they a waste of time ?
Any Darden admits or rejects? Was denied and they were my top choice.. i was also super confident in my application, but didn’t get an interview so who knows. Either way, feeling dejected and trying to see profiles of others who were accepted/rejected. Feel free to DM.
I have a case interview scheduled for next week for a LinkedIn BizOps Senior Associate Role. I have 4.5 YOE in tech consulting but haven’t had to do a true case study since I was interviewing for consulting almost 5 years ago, but the thought of a case study stresses me out just as much (if not more) than it did back then. I normally do super well for behavioral interviews but historically freak myself out for cases. Any tips on what the case might be like or generally what to expect?
Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.
Hello everyone, I would love to get into healthcare consulting. I have an upcoming interview with Deloitte and I will love to hear from other companies such as Booz Allen, KPMG, Pwc hiring in the DMV. Thanks. P.S: I cant DM anyone yet and I would appreciate some Likes so I could DM in the future. @
Started a new job this week and it’s super strange meeting people virtually. Not sure if there’s another thread out there about this but does anyone have any tips? I’m waiting until a non holiday week to reach out to people for a quick chat, but it feels so not personable
I got an offer from PwC for $110k + $5k signing bonus as a senior associate. Is that good/average? Should i have asked for more?

Since the thanksgiving holiday I have zero motivation to work. I’ve just been watching Netflix 🥲
Anyone think this quarantine will just accelerate outsourcing work? Especially once they get a hang of optimizing remote work/training?
MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.
My co-worker just told me she got an offer from another big 4 with a base of $160k as a S1 in tax??
Please share what your favorite everyday earrings are! Tired of my huggies and ready for something new. If can be left in overnight, that’d be a bonus.
I'm not a mom yet (don't kick me out of the group!) but have been going through fertility and IVF treatments for more than 6 months. I'm constantly having bloodwork, appointments and calls with the doc during working hours. Any advice on what I can and should tell my team about my health? They can tell I'm in and out of the doctor's office and I suspect they think I'm pregnant. Maybe it's being chock-full of hormone pills, but I'm sensitive about everyone thinking I'm pregnant when I'm not.
We all know consulting/advisory jobs in big 4 and mbb are tough and high burn ones. Expectations of high stress and long working hours are there. Why would people still want to work and stay in those jobs and expecting the companies to bend with their low stress tolerance.
Some Southwest drink coupons that are expiring. Not sure if they're still serving or if anyone's flying but here you go!
Moving from MBB consulting as a consultant or PL/EM/Manager, what are some good industry exit opportunities (outside of PE) where your compensation won't take a hit?
Hi Fishes, I have 2.5 years of experience in SAP Fiori and now I have two options available. 1.Deloitte USI 2.Small firm based out of California and few countries specialized in SAP GTS consulting with permanent remote. I would like to grow my skills in SAP ABAP and im also more into remote work with good WLB. I'm totally confused whether I should go with big4 or should I take this risk at early stage of my career. I'm just afraid that I'm making mistake ignoring D USI for small firm. Please help me.TIA
I feel so lost in my career. I have three years of B4 experience (1 year audit, 2 years risk compliance) and I absolutely hate what I do. I’m a high performer yet I have zero motivation. I don’t see myself becoming partner & I also dont see myself being a controller/CFO in industry. I feel like I made the wrong choice but accounting is all I know. Anyone else go thru this? What type of role/industry did you pivot to?
