Failed interview at McKinsey + Bain… Feeling very de-motivated for this upcoming grad cycle. At what point do I give up/think I’m not cut out for this?

I’m interviewing for BCG in a couple months. I have almost 2 YOE at a boutique operations consulting firm and have promo’d twice to manager (🐠 title not updated yet). What level would I come into BCG at - would I have a chance at senior associate or is it more likely to be entry level undergrad role?

If I’m at Senior Assoc at a top financial services firm in product mgmt (on track for VP) does it make sense to leave to start as a Business Analyst at a top mgmt consulting firm? I had applied to the Associate level but the recruiter messaged me back for a Business Analyst role. I don’t know much about how promotions work at these firms so trying to understand if this will set me back or if it’s worth having the name on the resume.

Is anyone willing to refer for Project, Program, or Product Management positions? I’m a leader on a Customer Success team in the SaaS space, but the workplace is becoming more toxic by the day and burnout is real. Same story as most people that post here, have applied to hundreds of places and interviewed with a few but nothing concrete has come out of it. Would appreciate the help! 🙂

What do you wear to a tech interview for PM role ?

Currently doing tech support at Nextiva but would love an opportunity to maybe expand that into QA or something of that nature. My dream companies are Riot Games and Blizzard - how does one expand their resume or begin working on creds for a change of role (also new to fishbowl)

35 years old going to be 36. Started ttc recently and tracking my ovulation. I noticed my test shows high fertile for 7-8 days straight without any peak in that month. It happened twice in last 6 months. My periods are fairly regular with 26-30 days cycles. my obgyn doesn’t seem to mind it but she suggested to go see a fertility specialist if I want to conceive sooner and don’t want to go traditional way. Hi 🐠 ! If I’m 100% new to casing (have a business degree but have been in audit for a year), how long do you recommend practicing case interviews to be strong at it? Is 6-8 weeks sufficient? Would likely be applying for analyst/associate roles. My friends in consulting keep reassuring me that it’s a learned skill but after watching my first case interview ngl I’m pretty intimidated 😅

Have first round interviews for BCG in 2 weeks- already did the pymetrics. Should I go through all the case studies available as prep or is it too soon? Sounds like first round is a behavioral and online case study- no live case. Confident in my behavioral ability, but want to make sure I am prepared for online case. Any recommendations are helpful.
