Any suggestions on securing an interview with Apple in Austin in a senior quality manager role? I interviewed with them late last year for a role but didn't make it to offer phase. I've been in quality for over 20 years spanning several industries. Just looking to cut thru the applicant pool if anyone can help. Apple

Weekend work is a pretty sensitive topic for me. I’m willing to do it as a rare exception if it couldn’t be planned for. If a project was sold with the expectation of weekend work, I want no part of it. I’d rather work with different leadership, different office, or different firm. Life is too short to work weekends.
Try other projects and industries before making a decision. The right team can make all the difference.
I was feeling similar feelings about six months in then switched to a new team and started really enjoying it. If you dislike the work itself (analysis, managing relationships, whatever it is you do), look elsewhere, but if it’s the culture or team, give it a bit more time to see if it improves.
Since you’ve done consulting before, seems like you knew what you were getting yourself into.
So don’t think you hate consulting. What is it that you hate now?
It’s a bit too early to exit. You really do need to wait 1 promo before leaving, imo to be to get the right level/ compensation and not to viewed as someone who failed in the role.
I just hate the fake deadlines and the expected weekend work on every project.
@ Op, you should come check us out. Obviously it depends on the team and market, but if our guys were dealing with that.. someone would get their a** chewed out pretty quick for not scoping properly. Don’t get me wrong, I know a lot of our guys that work weekends, but that’s more out of habit and prob slacking a bit during the week. More of lifestyle choice than a have to.
Oh, and yeah, resume wise it does look better to at least stick it out a year, but it’s not a deal breaker if you have solid skills or great attitude. Just tell HR you can’t travel anymore.
