Hey Everyone- am working on a LGBTQ initiative at my org and wanted to get some diverse perspectives on the following question- What is biggest challenge in enhancing LGBTQ diversity in workplace and what are some of the initiatives you would suggest to overcome those challenges?

How can I increase the diversity of candidates, particularly for leadership-level roles? I have seen the 3% conference and posted positions with them, are there other helpful resources?
I need to rant! There’s a diversity council at work and the majority of the people that are on it are white women. I️ asked to join and they said had no more room. How is this a diversity council when everyone on there has the same background. It’s so annoying. When u ask them about diversity they say we have a lot of women :) that’s not diversity! I️ am white passing/racially ambiguous but still, I️ also want the other POC girlies at work to be on the council but they’ve been turned down

My fiancé and I both have the CSR card and Freedom Unlimited combo and love them. We are thinking of adding another card and we were considering the Amex Platinum (to diversity transfer partners) or likely a United card for lounge access since we live in Chicago.

I could use an outside POV. The head of my agency places a great deal of importance on diversity. As I understand it, diversity ensures that a broader variety of perspectives and experiences are represented. The head of my dept comes down on me for bringing too much of myself to the work. Being too subjective with certain suggestions. Yet if people like me are only 2% of the population, my world view will never be “objectively” represented. Kind of offended by the straight privilege at play.

A few male non-POC that I work with have mentioned that diversity programs make them feel left out of opportunities.
Anyone else experience that, how do you respond (if at all)? I refuse to engage.

Hello! Okay, so in the workplace when coworkers ask about holidays everyone always mentions their family - husband, wife, kids. I always feel so uncomfortable when they assume I have a boyfriend/husband when I have a female partner but I feel like correcting them or just saying my partner will get me judged. Do you think the workplace just isn’t too accepting of sexual orientation for always assume the gender roles or am I just completely overthinking this?
We are considering a move to Atlanta and looking for a good school district with decent diversity. Most of that criteria is met by schools in the northern suburbs. But these areas are like almost 50 miles to the airport ! Are there any better options we might be overlooking ?
If you were offered a role at a company where there was little to no diversity within the group you were interviewing for (not even at the level you were interviewing for, or at senior leadership level) would this be a red flag for you in terms of culture, & potential opportunities? I want to keep an open mind but this company has been around for 20 years. The people I interviewed with were great but im concerned that there’s a larger problem at play. Thoughts?
There has been a lot of focus on non binary gender choices recently, the more important convo is non monogamous relationships. Why is this not spoken about? If I have 2 wives why do I have to hide one?
Help! I’m hiring, and it’s down to 2 candidates. One is not as qualified, would require a lot of training, a great fit culturally and brings diversity to the agency. The other is more qualified, still a great fit culturally and wouldn’t require as much training, they were more prepared and I could put them in front of the client tomorrow, but they are non-BIPOC. Both are in the same range salary wise, and my team is SUPER small. Both are great fits, and I am torn. Advice? Please?
I would really appreciate advice on managing a team of junior resources who are male and slightly older than me. All are as least two levels below me but constantly question and challenge the direction given. Without going in to detail, I have no doubt my age and gender is the reason. Y’all I think I may have been catfished. I went out with a BM a few times and during our first date I noticed he was much darker and his face was rounder than in his dating profile. Good performance management dictates relevant, TIMELY feedback. I’d challenge any formal feedback that was given after the fact and without time to correct the behavior.
