Is it normal for the UX research lead to have a stakeholder workshop (sans designers) to think of concept “thought starters,” then have a separate meeting with the UX design lead to vote on which 1 of 3 concepts to proceed with? Was unexpectedly asked to roll off a project today. It was a bit of a shock because this has never happened in my career before. Question: stayed at an Airbnb and their water pipe broke, pouring onto my brand new (<3 mos) personal laptop and breaking it. The laptop was fine, but if I could go back and get a different one, I would. They’re replacing it, but I honestly don’t know what the right amount is. I paid about $3000 for it, and they found it on a temporary sale for $2200. They want to reimburse me $2200, but I feel like the $3000 is most appropriate and is in-line with the quality of laptop I’d replace it with.
