I've got a few- "keep things shorts and flip flops"=be casual. "Picking apples vs picking cherries"= the apples are easier so start with those. "Don't turn the cream into butter"- similar to don't beat a dead horse. All of these came from my favorite little southern belle of a manager who quit and is now the wife of a baseball player.

C1 - "Soup to nuts" means beginning to end. It is derived from the description of a full course dinner, in which courses progress from soup to a dessert of nuts.

Have been able to avoid the bench with constant projects during COVID, which is good because nervous to be on bench at this time with all uncertainty. At the same time, I really feel myself starting to burn out. Likely starting a new project that will be < 3 months, how do I ask for PTO and set boundaries while also helping in a short term role?

I’m a freelancer been doing this for awhile (read 18 years) and my current gig I’m feeling so disrespected. I’m starting to be more and more negative in meetings etc. I normally have a clear solution for situations but this one I’m stumped. Do I just leave or do I sit down with the ECD and explain why I’m unhappy (tbh I’m unsure if he’d listen he feels very much an alpha dog). Ps. 4 creatives from the account have left recently so it’s not just a me thing.
