Favorite family vacation destinations? I figure I should spend some of this money on something fun.

Are you asking for kid friendly places? Or just fun for multiple adults? How old are the kids (if you’ve got kids going?). Based on the “family vacation” question, I’m going to assume children are going (and if not, just make a list of places you’ve never been that you’re interested in and pick somewhere amazing!). What kinds of things do you want to do on your vacation? This would wildly change my recommendations. There are lots of resorts where you can stay that have “kid camp” type things. For instance, Hawaii can be an amazing place for kids and adults alike. Camping is also fun and you can hit some of the national parks (if this is of interest). Also, nothing wrong with taking kids to Europe! Depending on their age, again, different recommendations. I’d also recommend if you take your kids somewhere less obviously a “kid” vacation place, maybe have a plan in place for them beforehand. For instance, I have a friend who has a company called Enlightened Explorers and she helps out map out certain things to do with kids that are age appropriate, interesting, and educational (in a fun way) for them. So maybe something similar, even if it’s just creating your own itinerary for where your kids want to go versus places they’re not going to have an interest in.

I am now back in the pre-diabetic range, and I got off my diabetes meds. I lost 40 lbs. and feel great! Take care of yourselves! It’s important

Anyone else deal with others passing judgment because of your age? I’m 30, married, and carry myself in a professional manner but still deal with random comments related to my age. Today I was complimented for my “maturity” for how I responded to a problem and it was shared that a partner or two also commented on my maturity. It rubbed me the wrong way and although these comments are less frequent now than when I first started my career, I still hear them and it’s bothersome.

Took my first vacation (1 week) in over a year to visit family. Was bombarded by emails from one partner asking me to complete non-time sensitive motions, which he hasn’t even bothered to review. This is my third firm in three years (first I left as I was severely underpaid, second I left for a 100k increase in salary), but this lack of respect for my boundaries has made me want to move again once I’ve completed 18 mos. Bad? They don’t do this to the other associates (all male).
