Rent a house. I've done the st.regis and Grand Hyatt on separate trips. Most recent trip I rented a house next to the Grand Hyatt. Much better

Solo travel, renting a house doesn’t make sense for me

Sc1- haha agree completely. In that case, Grand Hyatt. The St.regis is very nice but a lot more isolated so availability of things like dining or nightlife are limited . St.regis closer to Hanalei and Waimea canyon and stuff like that though. If I were you, I'd stay at Grand Hyatt and then day trip it up to the North side of the island. It's about 30-35 minutes depending on traffic.

What about the Koloa Landing Autograph (Marriott Property)? Heard good things and much better pts redemption value than St Regis.

Princeville on the North Shore is beautiful. Na’ Pali Coast hike hard to beat. Tunnels beach great for snorkeling. Tahiti Nui great for drinks. Watch The Descendants before you go.

+1 Grand Hyatt. Princeville is beautiful but depending on the time of year I would prefer to stay on the south side of the island.

Random question for anyone who has ever exchanged/gotten a replacement away travel suitcase. Is there any flexibility to get a different color? My interior zipper broke and I stopped in a store to ask if they do repairs and they said to bring it in and they’ll just replace it. I wouldn’t hate switching the color but feel weird asking for some reason

At what age did your in-laws stop traveling? Mine are 65 and 62 and I can’t wait until they stop insisting on driving the 20 hrs each way to visit and then staying with us multiple days to make the drive worth it and spending every waking minute with us. I would prefer them to fly and stay for a long weekend (~3 days) and/or get a hotel or at least do their own thing for part of the time. Annnnd thanks for listening to my rant. ;)

Crowdsourcing ski trip advice - Aspen or Beaver Creek with two kids (8 and 5) who are beginners? I am also a relatively inexperienced skier. Have been to BC before and liked it.

Cost is similar for both (hotel + flying direct); potential to fly to DEN and drive to BC to save, but I don’t think I’m willing to drive all the way to Aspen

If Aspen, does it matter if we stay in Aspen or Snowmass?

Thanks!
