Has anyone made a switch from B4 to professional services at a software company? Why you made the move? Lessons learned. Thanks.
Here’s to someone who taught so much to so many. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2021/02/18/rushs-final-lesson/
I induce meaningful learning in my classroom by using concrete situations in the world as a resource to illustrate the learning goals of my lessons.
I’ve been burned by the stock market before trading options (when the market bottomed out in 2016) and I learned my lesson on recklessly speculating on spikes and dips in the market. Anyone else feel like this situation is gonna create a class of retail investors who are over confident in the “ease” of timing the market, without doing an research, after all this dies down?
This bowl is a way for high school English teachers to share lesson/unit plans, activities, resources, etc.!
Ladies, please say this is a red flag! We were talking about how long we've been in a relationship and I said 2 years, he asks what lessons I've learnt from my ex, and then that's where this ensues:
Any ladies here golf? I just bought a home in a golfing/lakeside community and now want to pickup the sport. Any deets on where to but cute golfing outfits/shoes? Tips on getting started? Planning on setting up a few lessons soon…TIA
So, I had to be away for two days. On my way back into town, I stopped at my classroom, just to make sure it was still standing. The sub had rearranged my stuff and taken candy (that I had intended to give to the office workers) and said she gave it to one of my classes. I am livid. Am I over reacting?
On Monday, we'll have like an hour to go into our classrooms to get anything we need to start making lessons for distance learning. what do i need?
Want to learn lawn tennis. Any recommendations for good tennis lessons in NYC (preferably close to East Village)
Any bad golfers in NYC? Just finished my 5th lesson and am ready to lose some golf balls
Well it’s been heck of a week. Rejected from two start ups, but I guess after enough rejection, I just don’t feel for it anymore. Could be a good or a bad thing. Lesson learned though, I have been chasing payout of joining rather than sitting down and figuring out what I like to do and then focusing on opportunities in that area. This clearly isn’t a winning strategy, but I also haven’t been able to figure out what I like to do. Good luck out there peeps!
It's finally happened. I can feel that I have given up. The breaking point? My CD making a big deal out of having a call on Saturday at 1 pm to look over a deck that was due this morning. I rearrange my schedule. I move my kids piano lesson. I stay up until 2 the night before making sure everything is in line. He never calls. Doesn't respond to my text. I send him the deck and he doesn't respond until Sunday afternoon. Then gets pissy when I say I can't hop on the phone at that exact moment.
I am a substitute that a lot of the teachers like because I do the job well and follow their lesson plans. Do you think it is a better idea to stay a sub or move on in hope of my own class?

Hey folks, I’m about a year into my new SE career and looking to continue to invest in professional skills. I’ve obviously been thrown into the fire learning the sales side of things, but what areas (technical skills, certs, books, etc.) you all would recommend I look to invest in? I’ve been looking at some beginner coding boot camps and scrum product owner certs, but interested in what you all have done to further advance your career
As a staff 1 in advisory, how long until it's ok to interview elsewhere? I got a referral to another firm but I don't want to step on any toes if it's too early to jump ship.
I’m making about $100k a year currently in a MCOL city. I’m single with no kids, no debt, rent is $1k/mo and I’m maxing my 401k and IRA. Would I be a fool buying a $65-70k car? I’m a car guy so I already have a pretty cool car with only 40k on the clock, but have been considering upgrading. Thoughts?
Looking for a bizops / corp strategy / corp dev exit - any referrals? I have 2 years post-MBA strategy consulting experience (S&) and 4 years pre-MBA corp fin experience.

What salary hike to expect on top of current base if trying to boomerang within big 4 in 1 year. I moved to KPMG at a 30% hike last year.
Posting again hoping to get more responses: currently in financial services tax WAM federal group, manager. Think heavy compliance, churning out K1s. Seriously considering the exit and have been actively applying in various industries (not the typical PE or hedge funds in house roles). Which industry is the best in terms of growth opportunities and pay? My end goal is to be a head of tax and I want to choose my first industry role wisely. Don't want to get pigeonholed into a dying industry.

Hi! I'm a systems analyst (YOE - 2 yrs. If adding internships, then 3 YOE) and trying to pivot into data analytics/science. A fast learner with a decent amount of transferable skills. I've been taking online courses for the past several months to add necessary skills to my resume (SQL, Looker, etc.). Anyone willing to provide a referral to Google, Apple, Slack, Okta, or Facebook? If unable to, any advice on changing careers or data analytics is greatly appreciated!
Any NYC CD’s who have time to grab a coffee and take a look at our book? We are a junior team from the Netherlands. We just finished our internship at Grey and are on exchange at the SVA.
