Trying to figure out how best to stream audio to a website.

Before suggesting some of the obvious stuff, let me clarify...

1. Always on, as people navigate the site, it should keep streaming
2. Works as mobile web too (should be foregone these days)
3. Manages prerecorded shows, interstitials/commercials, etc.
4. Support "going live" so the company can break into the stream at any time
5. People can call in (i.e. Clubhouse)

Essentially, AM radio, but streaming.

Hello! I was recently contacted by tech recruiters for PMM roles and they both shared job descriptions for 12 months contract coming with a fixed salary. I was wondering if there would still be room for negotiations during interviews with hiring managers or these recruitment agencies are supposed to hire contractors within the budget. What are the usual compensations you can negociate when you are not directly contacted by the client? Is limited to salary & bonuses?

I was recently laid off as a result of the pandemic. After recovering from the initial shock, I'm feeling wronged as I wasn't offered severance or anything. I don't even know who else was laid off. I filed for unemployment, but is there anything else I should ask or find out?

I’m a first year associate. I don’t feel like I’ve been tasked with enough work whereas other associates who’ve been at the firm slightly longer are swamped with work. Any advice?

Does your firm do anything for yearly work anniversaries? It’s obviously not a big deal but I made it to a year at a firm with high attrition (at least ten associates in our division alone have left in my time here) and have received no acknowledgement of this fact. Nor have I heard anything about a year review. I’d take an atta boy and pat on the back.

Anyone have experience with becoming a law professor? Is there any point in applying to an entry-level law professor position if you have nothing published? Any tips for getting published?

How much do M&A partners at midsized law firms make? How long is partnership track on average?

I'm transitioning from my firm job to a fellowship. I'm leaving (after 6 months) because I hate my job. Hate it to the point that I wake up hours early to convince myself to go in. I can barely get my work done while in the office. Any advice on how to stick it out until I leave?

How long to argue MSJ? Opposing counsel wants to request a half day which seems insane to me. Cross MSJs. I told him no matter how complicated these motions are judge is not going to want to listen to us for more than maybe an hour—even that seems too long.

Just lateraled and looks like I’ll be taking on a sizeable privacy practice from an associate who left recently. Any benefit to CIPP and CIPM training/certification as a lawyer? In DC if that matters.

Is it reasonable to be expected to spend 20-30 non-billable hours a month checking your paralegal’s work? (i.e. summarizing hundreds of records and bills). The partner said he “didn’t use paralegals” at his previous firm and eating the time is an “investment in yourself.” Is this common?

Giving notice this week…logistics require this to be done over a phone call. Will be the most recent of several associates who’ve given notice within the past 2 months (smaller firm). Any advice on how I can avoid/soften being the final nail in the proverbial coffin and/or straw that breaks the camel’s back and/or insert your preferred idiom here? Am I making enough profit for my firm?

I became a 2 year lawyer in September. I started working at my firm, a mid-sized firm practicing commercial business litigation and PI, in March of 2020. Last year I made the firm $180k from my billable hours and I was paid $85k + full health and other benefits.

This year, I'm on track to make about $150k and to make the firm about $450k from my billable hours and PI cases that I originated and settled.

Trying to do right for my firm. I'm treated well.

Question to all the specialists who work on corporate deals: totally get that you get requests to review and comment all the time and to do so on crazy deadlines. Is there anything general corporate teams can do to make these requests better (other than extending deadlines or not asking you for deal support altogether).

Client issue - I’m on one of my client’s supervisor’s “bad list.” Our firm requires updates every 60-90 days. Rarely miss sending reports on time, but some of the clients request updates every 20-30 days. I try to respond timely, but don’t always, often will just send a reply saying I will have this for you within 1 week or ASAP. Since October, one of the supervisors for this company will periodically email the head of our department (not cc’ing me) and say they are missing reports. (Cont.)
