Hard same. My kid, and myself, are sick constantly!
My older daughter built up amazing immunity and we had several years where she didn’t see the pediatrician at all between checkups. My younger daughter kept getting sick relentlessly and we ended up getting live in help to get her out of daycare.
As for myself, I found that if they were sick and I took Airborne following the instructions (meaning 3x per day until they weren’t contagious) I didn’t catch it. I know some people thing Airborne is useless, but it definitely got me through the toddler stage
That part gets better! I had this experience when my oldest was in daycare. The first year was awful. Between the baby, my husband and me, someone was sick every other day the whole winter. 2nd year and onwards were MUCH more manageable, couple days out overall but nothing even memorable.
Do you take a multi vitamin? I found that was very helpful along with being tested for deficiencies and taking the relevant vitamins/fruit/veggies. Nothing worse than being constantly sick
Thank you all! Taking prenatals still and exercising whenever I can but I am truly run down. I get some sort of horrible virus every 3 weeks.
Never underestimate the importance of handwashing
Once you get past year two things dramatically improve.
Fortunately didn’t experience that but noticed in other day cares around NYC parents/kids are not required to wash hands right when you walk in the classroom. Think that helps tremendously as the daycare has a pretty low number of sick kids even during the flu season. Sounds so basic I know.
I feel like the 1st year is the worst. Lots of illness year one. It gets better.
Zicam when you start feeling ill has done miracles for me!
