What can you do if you don’t have a support system? My only family is my spouse and in-laws. It has been mentally difficult to get out of bed most days. I only worked-out once last week which is unlike me. I’m losing my desire to do things I used to love. Again I don’t really have people I can confide in or at least give me some advice which is why I’m asking here...Thank you!

FIRE folk, do you contribute to a traditional IRA, with the expectation that your income will be lower when you finally hit FIRE and hope for that ~10 tax, so you'll do ladder conversions later or do you do direct Roth or backdoor Roth conversion contributions now? I don't mind the Roth contributions now, but I truly believe we'll have less income when retired. No kids now, but planning to in a couple of years.

I’ve read up on the “IL Fair Tax” proposal being voted on in the Fall and am curious to know other’s opinions. I get the appeal, or at least the perception of fairness, for many voters, but believe if this amendment passes, it will do nothing more than speed up the exodus of higher-comped talent in the state and make us a less attractive place for employers to do business.

If C19 has taught us anything, it’s that much of the U.S. workforce is mobile. I for one prefer warm weather & low taxes.
