I was in FDD and had a phone interview with a boutique bank and the person was such an asshole to me during the call I realized there was no way I wanted to go that route. He was incredibly condescending. The entire website was a bunch of white dudes and also wouldn’t want to be the only woman there. Ended up getting an offer as a finance reporting manager for a public company and loving it. Left FDD as a senior so got a promotion by leaving.

Congrats on the move, sounds like a definite win. Post B4 it’s hard to go into the office everyday, but at least your total hours in office would still be less than previously. Will open my search to industry roles for sure

In my just over a year in FDD I’ve seen most leave for FP&A but also one left for boutique PE firm and I’ve gotten interest from a boutique investment bank.

Just started in FDD and would absolutely love more than life itself to move to an IB or PE, but looking at an MBA to hopefully get to a bigger than boutique shop. Many thanks for the timely response and have a great holiday weekend ahead

I just got laid off from a strategy consulting boutique in the UK that primarily works with PE funds doing CDD/VDD. It goes without saying that the market is terrible. I suspect no strategy firms are hiring and it will need to be an in-house move or if I could stretch it PE/VC. What are people’s thoughts and does anyone have any advice?

I need opinions on this. Just started a new PM role (at an IPG agency) last month but I recently got hit up by a recruiter from another agency (WPP agency) for a pretty enticing PM role on a 360 AOR account. Further context: The PM role I'm in currently is my first PM role ever (I came from an entry level AE/Producer backgrund) I know jumping ship for the other PM role would look terrible but tell me why you would OR would not jump ship?

I’ve been out of consulting for 2 years. I went to company A (was a series E startup but has since went public). I left company A for company B about 3 month ago. I had a job I liked and it was relatively easy at company A but I felt like it wasn’t pushing me at all so I left. I started at company B (a series C startup) a couple of months ago and haven’t had a great time. I’m struggling and don’t really enjoy my team. My old boss at Company A just left and the company posted a job opening (cont)

Have an offer that pays ~$350-450k a year, but is very bonus heavy and about 25% of that or more will be restricted stock and options. Making ~$350k now all cash. And the way it’s structured, in the first year I’ll end up being ~$50k short for the year of where I would be if I stayed. Also requires a big move to a location I’m not too keen on. WLB is better, probably 50 hours a week but need to be plugged in 100% of the time. Any considerations I haven’t really thought about? What should I ask?
