My feedback is this chart gives me a headache, use a piechart

likefunny

Love this! What did you use to create this?

Is that monthly salary? Or annual?
Will your paycheck deduct taxes for Medicare/SS?
Did you incorporate the money needed to buy toiletries?

like

Sankey maker.
Monthly.
Yes.
No, maybe I’ll add some category for home goods

like

Clothes, medical expenses/insurance.
Also seems like you could be putting more of your savings in 401k and getting more tax benefit.

like

Love the chart! Add in - Holiday funds incl gifts (bdays, anniversaries, etc).

I don’t see car insurance nor phone bill

How do I make one of these charts

OP - consider tracking finances in personal capital if you don’t already, it will give you actual vs planned budget every month and you can course correct based on real data soon

Maybe some more discretionary / miscellaneous categories - clothes, furniture, household goods, etc. maybe you’re bucketing somewhere else

I am the walking definition of mediocrity and I'm OK with it as every supposed 'rockstar' I've come across in the few short years I've been here in the US has also been entirely mediocre at best. The problem is, when every job advert asks for "the world's greatest X", how do you put across that you can do the job perfectly well without sounding like an a$$hole?

What are some red flags you've noticed in the hiring process? I've finally landed an interview after weeks of applying. I think it went well on my end, but something about the managers I spoke with just feels...off.

hi all,

Quick question. What's an average hike given to the progression from SA1 to SA2 ? I have been performing well and that reflects on my all snapshots too. Was curious to know the expected hike i can get in the year end .

I have many options to consider but two options below are what I’m thinking of right now.

I want to see your thoughts on which one I should pick.

Job A: Project Engineer. 135K/yr base. 10% signing bonus.

Job B: Senior Project Manager. Contract. $60/hr standard. $90/hr overtime.

Social media is changing, from IG going to video and Twitter….well. It has become clear how important focusing on multiple social media channels can be.

Additional Posts in FIRE Financial Independence Retire Early

MBR question. I’ve never done one. Currently contributing ~$1000 into taxable per month. max 401k, HSA, Roth IRA. Company plan allows after tax contributions and in service distributions, so I think that means it’s a MBR green light. My plan is at empower so everything is done on paper, very cumbersome process, and there is a $40 fee for each in service distribution. I believe when I make an after tax contribution, it gets invested based on my investment options for my 401(k)? More in comments

I’m trying to retire by the age of 45. I’m currently 27. I stash away $1,000 each month into my 401k plan (this includes my employee match). I have around $20k in my 401k. $17k in student debt. $6k in debt (kitchen remodel and a portion of the AC we bought). Is it possible for me to retire soon?
