Hi Guys,
I need to activate DM. Please like my post.
for Amazon SDE roles and code assessment. How much do they really do what's in the assessment? I am doing a code assessment this weekend and I am a developer but I don't really do much of complex data structure stuff or map graph stuff I have seen. Is that what Amazon developers do day to day? Yes, and defend yourself with the fact that a lack of sleep leads to much lower productivity
Setting expectations early is always a smart move.
If you work for a good boss, they are going to require it.
I worked till 6:00 am and negotiated a trip home to shower and come immediately back.
When I work past midnight, I do remote next day. I tell client that will save my commute time next day to finish up important deliverables. If the work can’t be done remotely, then you’re screwed?
Depends on how late. I generally say after midnight unless we are on a critical timetable. Also, why do you need to negotiate coming in at a different time? Unless you are missing a meeting it shouldn’t matter if you come in at 7am or 9am.
Agreed. I’m working from home, so I feel like I need to over communicate. Worked from home as a full-time job in the past.
I worked at a law firm that had this as a policy if you worked past midnight. Any time worked past 12am was time you could come in later the next day
I usually send a note to the team and the lead to let them know I’ll be in late. Usually do that when I am leaving if working late
You must be new to this. No you go in at the same time if you want to earn some more respect. Mention how late you were up working at some point in the day. Slide it into convo like someone stealing second base
Working late and coming in early every day is not how you get quality work done. That's how you suck up. I'm smacking my head with each of these comments.
Not EY but most of my team works extremely late and nobody questions what time they come in unless they are not present on a scheduled meeting. Do your due diligence and it shouldn’t matter where you’re at.
No. I have never had this luxury, unfortunately. Recently had to fly EWR to ORD and drive 1.5 hours for a full day meeting, drive back to ORD and fly back to EWR and drive home all in the same day. Had meetings the following day beginning at 7am.
Alexa, define "not worth it"
How late is late, OP
Yeah call in late, all good
