I've got 4 years in combination of 2 Big4 Firms at the SM and D level. If I don't doubt my ability to do this job at least once a week, I'm not doing it right. Comfortable doesn't drive your numbers. What does get easier is understanding the activities you need to be doing - the relationship building, the quality checks, and the internal work. Basically the mechanics get automatic.
First year m and feel exactly the same
One more thing is make sure you communicate with your coach and service line lead as they will also help you. If you surprise them at year end with crappy results, you will be in much worse shape. Take the coaching, listen, act on it and feedback. Then even if it doesn't line up right away, you at least have a good story.
You're ahead of the curve - most don't recognize that they need to grow.
@D OP No sweat. That was coaching I got from an incredible mentor at D as I was sitting in front of him saying exactly what you said. We've all been there.
You wouldn't be a SM if you weren't ready. Ignore the self doubt - I've been at D and people smell it a mile away.
You're not alone op..dont be too hard on yourself.
Thanks Director1, those are wise words
Thanks Director!
Nice perspective Director
Hang in there. It gets better. Give it a year.
First year at a new level is often challenging, nothing to feel bad about or be worried about. Totally normal!
Thanks buddy. I already feel slightly better
I would think it takes 6-8 months to settle in to any role
There is a syndrome that a lot of people have similar to that. Inadequacy syndrome or something like that.
