Hi guys,
What is the policy in your firm related to working hours during Ramadan?
As per the UAE government, private sector working hour must reduce by 2 hours. Does your firm/project comply with this and if not, isn’t that a violation?

This is the most inspirational post I’ve seen in a while 👏🏻 good to know we’re all still here for each other!!
I feel like that in most projects, keep your head up. Most the time the only thing you can control is your effort! Everything else is out of your hands.
Every single creative has been where you are now. Considering that our job is to get people to part with their money, it’s kinda wild to think that we can let this stuff get to us. (And it totally does!!)
Blow off some steam and surround yourself with people who can help you laugh it off. There will be more projects ahead that you’ll totally crush and more that you’ll fail in the future. The fact that you care is a good sign. Keep pushin!
People mess up, would you be as hard on a friend as you’re being in yourself? Forgiving yourself for your mistakes is crucial for growth. Mess up all the time just don’t make the same mistake twice. Isn’t it weiden and Kennedy that says fail harder? :) it’ll be ok
We make ads, those annoying little things that normal people avoid like the plague. You failed to put more of that into the world, which if you think about, is a good thing. Proud of you.
sometimes it helps to give yourself a time limit. like set a couple hours, a day, whatever and let yourself use that time to feel bad or explore why you feel bad. then when time is up move on.
Ahhh I’ve been there. It’s cool, all it takes is one project that goes well to bounce back. Stuff changes and people forget, you will too.
Human beings fail. All that you’ve done is prove you’re human. You’re the sum of your experiences in total, not the sum of just your failures. So, stand up and go for a long, fast-paced walk or jog down by the river. And I mean long. Walk until your feet start to hurt. Listen to some upbeat music that you love. Somewhere along the line, you’ll find yourself thinking about the song and not about this and you’ll start to feel a little better. Then, go have dinner with friends and I promise you all will feel much better.
Just, don’t sit at home and stew about it all day. Because you will 100% feel worse than you do right now.
This post is wholesome as shit 👼🏼
If you have some time you should read/watch on netflix Brene Brown’s The call to courage. I seriously prob watch that once a month because it reminds me a.) that I’m not the only one who feels like a fuck up and b.) that failing all the time is normal as long as I don’t give up. In fact, I actually talk to my friends and fam really directly about it now like “oh yeah, reaaally fucked that up today. Failed big time!” bc I find that the more I use it the more it helps take some of the power out of the word. "Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself."- ⚡️
I’m a month into a new gig and have failed miserably at every turn in this one project. You may have failed or feel like you failed at it. I know how you feel.
Dissect where you think you could have done things better. Ask for feedback.
Make a note of what your key takeaways are from the situation and move on.
Turn a failure experience into a learning experience.
It's never your fault. I'd advise you to blame you colleagues for the mistake. Deflect it. Never let anyone know it's you because you are the most qualified candidate for the job. This is the best way to grow as an individual.

Thanks for posting this and thanks everyone else who chimed in. I spent all weekend mulling over a possible BIG mistake - so anxious that I don’t feel like seeing friends and when I did I’m distracted. Can’t sleep well at night then next morning I don’t want to get out of bed. What helped me a little bit is journaling - literally trying to get the thoughts out of my head. And trying to set up an appointment with my old therapist. Anyway, just to say you’re not alone. And I feel less alone about this too now.
Remember is this advertising. The worst can happen is someone sells less candy or shit people don’t need to begin with. You’re not a surgeon or bridge engineer so focus on getting it right next time! This simple and obvious observation has made me so much more at ease in what I do and take more risks too.
Resiliency is one of the best attributes you can have. If you can get past any failures/fuck ups so can others. Own it, then move past it. How you handle the lows is more telling than how you handle success.
If you want to fly like an eagle you can’t sh!t like a canary. Blow of some steam and remember that everyone around you has experienced and will experience the same.
Failing can be liberating. You failed and you’re still here, it’s not the end of the world. It’s just advertising.
You have to fail to become that much better.
Sometimes it helps me to look back and think about whether I could have done anything differently. Not in hindsight, but honestly - with the information I had at the time, could/should I have done anything differently? If the answer is no, it helps me let go of the anxiety. If the answer is yes, then I try to own it and at least take comfort knowing I won’t make that mistake again.
