I wannabe the very best, like no one ever was. To catch them all is my real test and train them is my cause.
Yes:
+ It's easier to find a job while you're still employed
+ It's better for the ego to be able to say, "I left"
+ You probably don't enjoy your current job, to be honest, and it's killing you inside to go in every day knowing full well nothing you do will make a difference and on top of all that you're not getting a bonus this year and who even wants to deal with this client bullshit anyway and leadership sucks so it's not like you have anyone here to look to for mentorship and jfc what is so wrong in wanting some kind of work life balance for crying out loud?
At many companies, yes. Here, it means you're on thin ice, but I survived mine and ended up getting a 2 the next year
But... maybe you should if you want to start with a fresh slate
4 isn't an automatic firing...
It's my first year too and my scatterplot position was shit, my counselor told me not to worry. What makes you think you'll get a 4?
My scatterplot was bad too :(
Op can you please give more details. How long have you been at the firm? How bad was your scatterplot? Did you show improvement? What did your counselor say about it? It's very hard to get a 4 your first year (bottom 5% or so), so if you give us more details can give you a more realistic answer.
4 is the worst too it doesn't go down to 5 😂 and 4 is no bonus
Is it ur first year?
Depends on how much you want to stick around. IF you really think it's very likely that you'll get a 4 (e.g. not just "oh my utilization is a few points low" or "my scatterplot isn't in the very top right"), then "fortunately" it's in your non-promo year so you can potentially recover and hit your original timeline
Is 1 the best, or 5?
1 is the best

Why do you think you got a 4? Did counselor say so?
^yes
@OP 4 doesn't mean automatic firing. For me it was no raise (no bonus being a given for Analysts), no promo that year (duh), and a PIP
Yes
Doesn't a PIP mean you'll essentially get fired soon though?
What level are you at?
