I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

I’m in the same boat! Almost 2 years. Hours have been fine but consulting environment just isn’t the right fit.
Did you have a job before consulting? If so, what did you miss about that? I’ve learned more and more what I like and don’t like as I’ve progressed in my career and try to mentally track it so I can gear any next role towards that, vs “what” it is if that makes sense.

Almost 2 years. Mostly the pace of consulting (working way too many hours) and constantly changing teams/topic areas
Can we all start by asking some exploratory questions? I’ll go first. What about consulting makes you feel like it’s not for you?

Does your college have career counseling for alumni? May be helpful
Is the the pace of consulting, the travel, the people aspect of it, the ambiguity..what is it?
Thanks EY1 for your reply. Just wrote to Manager 1 above, it’s mostly the hours and always having to work with new teams in new industries which I have limited control over
