McKinsey & Company Has Mckinsey met BA headcount quota for the year/did they freeze hiring? I interviewed and got to last round last year, and applied again with a referral two months ago but haven’t heard anything from recruiting. Last year I heard back within 1 month of referral drop. I would’ve thought with my 1 more year of experience I should be able to get an interview easily.🥲 McKinsey & Company
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

If you get the other offer (Firm B), tell the Director you want to get more experience before heading to their firm, so you can be more of an asset in the future.

Apparently you’ve never had a director with a massive ego that needs stroking. I’d only say that if you wanted to keep the relationship and not bruise their feelings.
Always go with whatever is best for you period. I am sure the director will understand if you have an offer that is better in terms of brand and pay (and if she/he doesn’t then fk it, it does not look like you are gonna need her/his help any time soon)
Tell Firm B "I'm really interested in your firm and excited to interview. I currently have another offer with a strict deadline. Can you accommodate a shorter interview timeline?"
This is what I did. I did turn down 2 offers, and planning on accepting one, while still in the interview process with a couple of other firms, I will reassess the accepted role IF I got other, better offer..
Always go for the most prestige. Even if it’s much less money. Prestige, worldwide.

I'd recommend placing your focus on compensation. Referrals are distributed like candy, and you can always move over later on (should their offer not be another low-ball). Company "branding" is so overrated...
