Here is my story... Hoping someone has been through the similar situation and can shed some light on. I am originally from Turkey and have lived in the US for 5 years. Had a great job and life in NYC however I was so sad and lonely being away from my family so I decided to quit my job and everything.In expense of moving back home. So now I'm in Turkey i don't have a job and it's been months I'm sitting home and spending my savings. I have offers from right and left but I don't want to work again...

SC1. I know things feel hopeless and you feel helpless but, there are things you can do to help. Whether it’s volunteering within or outside our firm, find ways to move the needle.
the “polarization “everyone is feeling is actually the realization America isn’t an equal society. Some people are panicking at the news perceiving they may lose some advantage and others want to make it right.
As far as looking for commonalities as opposed to correcting injustices I will quote James Baldwin who said
“”We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in your oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist”
It's because of the mentality of all or nothing in today's people.
When people that believe in BLM hear ALM, they automatically see an enemy instead of saying "we both agree that black lives are important."
Just like when ALM people hear BLM, the ALM people think of them as an enemy instead of thinking "they believe in something we believe in too"
Overall, people need to look at what we have in common instead of what we disagree on.

This is very true. The world and society are more polarized than ever before in my lifetime. But you cannot lose hope. No one has the power to rip that from you. Hold on to it and be part of a slow change to a better world.

I think a lot of things are coming to the surface that have been around for a long time. I just think covid 19 has stilled our lives enough to all truly pay attention
That new knowledge, while painful, is also an opportunity to build something better. A better context.
It's overwhelming, but instead of feeling helpless, it helps me to imagine different, more positive futures and think about how I can be part of creating that.

Think of it in terms of grief. Depression comes first, after the loss of something you had or thought you had. But acceptance will also come eventually.
