Oh no. Make sure you set and keep your boundaries! It can be good to help friends, but you don't want to get burnt out with other people's crap.

Helping employees. But thank you. Boundaries are firm. Took me years to realize I needed them.

I completely understand that. Some weeks it does feel like that. But the feeling of helping others never gets old.

Must be in the air; same here for the past couple weeks it seems. We've been having some struggles with getting back into the office which seems to be the main source.

Take care of yourself! What are some things you have been doing to de-stress?

Definitely my favorite part of the job, but it can be emotionally taxing.

Hi everyone! In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I was offered a promotion but due to internal policies the max comp they could offer was way under market value. I countered and was denied. I took time to think about it, being disappointed I applied for other jobs. Monday came and I decided to accept the offer. A week before starting my new position I got a call for one of the jobs I applied for. I am now going through to the last round of interviews the same week I start my new position. Would it be bad practice to accept another offer now?

I thought I found the perfect position in March but I was let go today. I was blindsided. Never a complaint, my reviews were excellent and I got along well with the owners. My only issue was the PEO not speaking with me and going directly to the owners with her agenda. I asked ownership to work with me and I would pull the PEO in, if necessary. Apparently, they have a longstanding friendship and he does not think of them as a vendor as a friend. She suggested a on-site PEO rep and out I go!
