Recently Store Managers have been offering me jobs from different locations but same company in my town. The company is T-Mobile. It’s going to be my first job. Really could use more time off than a long weekend or a "real vacation." I am dreading work every day. In a shitty cycle of working long hours, not sleeping enough during the week, and not feeling on top of it. Tried for early promo in December - got denied and was told to try for June due to tenure, which is fine with me. However, feel pressure to perform all the way until then but feel like I'm slipping in my performance now, and thus sabatoging myself. Feeling depressed, don't want to do anything.
Needed to vent. Any suggestions are welcome!
See if it's possible to work remotely for a week! Even if it's local. Just take some time not to be 'on'. Whenever life is getting me like this, I throw myself into some physical work like walking, hiking, spin class, etc. Something that requires energy and focus outside of your stressors. Really clears the head. I won't say it makes me feel better, it just makes me feel less pessimistic.
Remember that your worth lies outside of work. Reminding yourself of that (through connecting with family, building a hobby skill) is part of your path to feeling less affected by the ups and downs of work life.
How are your personal relationships? How is your mind? What do you do to learn and stimulate your mind outside of work? Reach for that when work isn't going exactly as planned
