Feeling really stressed and hopeless. 2 YOE in consulting out of undergrad and really not enjoying any of the work or firm anymore. Was planning on leaving this year, but then COVID hit and now there are few job opportunities. Burnt out from wfh and no idea what to do. I know I should be grateful to have a job, but whenever I see my work email I feel so anxious like I want to throw up.

Take a week off. Reset. Keep applying and work until you find a job you like. If you can afford to be without a job for a few months, quit. I wouldn’t recommend doing this as I think it’s better to be employed during job search.

Thanks. But don’t fully feel comfortable taking a week off, on a rapid due diligence project. Just seems like there’s no way forward besides to stick around until covid ends and then search for jobs. Even a vacation right now feels meaningless since there’s no where to go and nothing to do.

Sorry to hear and I hope you feel better, whether through leaving or finding another project. Have you taken PTO to unwind?

Same here. Just keep searching, you’ll find something.

Take leave. If u have no immigration constraints., take a break. Just say u need some time off.. HR etc will be supportive.. Especially now.

Did it myself pre covid. Took 3 month leave of absence. Best decision of my life. Like life and career reboot.

How's everyone doing? I was on social media today and reading about the Adam Toledo video and it took me back to last June, which on top of the pain from seeing this racist system continue to win out, June was my lowest billing month and hurt my confidence about hitting hours compared to my white peers.

How are other people dealing with 1) trauma of another racist murder by cops and 2) impact on work? I am not black, so my pain does not compare but I can't act like things are fine either...
