Wanted to share smth I found recently. I felt like it was pretty darn accurate. I’ll provide the link here but there’s a screenshot I took that I feel I can relate to quite heavily. https://pairedlife.com/love/infatuations
I’ve struggled with so many heavy infatuations before and a friend recommended this. Hope it helps anyone else out there who’s gone through this or may be going through this right now.

I havent grown at all and having to be on client site 5 days a week to pretty much make an "appearance" rather than doing actual work has caused my anxiety and depression to be worse than it ever has. What i feel like i want to do is take a break from working(at least corporate life) and give some time back to myself to get healthy, read, etc. But with a potential promotion coming up....is it worth dropping everything ive worked for, face the questions and scrutiny from friends and family, just to take a break that may or may not help my mental status....looking for some advice here. Thank you
If you plan to stay in consulting in the long run, enjoy this time. There will be a time when you miss these days
I went through a similar situation. Do you think you can stick it out until promotion? If so, I think it may be worth the wait, just to secure the higher status which will then make it easier to jump ship if that's what you decide. If not, then may be worth it to take a break now. Ultimately your health and happiness is more important than any of this. I understand the worry about how friends and family will react, but ultimately if they really support you (which I'm sure they do), they will be behind you regardless of what decision you make. As for skills development, when I went through a similar funk I brainstormed more ways I could contribute to my project beyond my stated role, as well as skills I could develop outside of my project. Making that plan and then executing it really helped me feel more satisfied with my accomplishments and skills I've developed here.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to DM me if you'd like to talk more 😊
