About your age, one of my clients was in her 50s when she joined tech. You'll live until your mid 90s, Statistically.
You are so young! Act like it ;)

Barclay's has (had?) Some cool internal programs to help stellar employees and experts do stretch and learning assignments, especially when they express boredom/dires to learn more.
Do you still have the learning hubs? If you do, reach out to that org and get aware of the opportunities.
I had numerous clients from Barclay's and was impressed with the investment options that employees have (but have to seek out).
My career path was SWE to cloud/DevSecOps engineer to project manager to director. In spite of stepping out of the hands on technical role, I've still managed to keep my technical chops sharp and am recognized as a SME for Cloud/DevSecOps.
If you are finding yourself bored, this seems like a great time to reassess your goals. What do you find you care about at work? Is it the tech? Is it the team? Is it the culture? Is it the money? Where is your current position failing to meet that interest?
I've learned that career path is something you have more control over than you might think at first look. Find what you care about and then look for gaps in that either at your current company or with another. Gaps are opportunities. Don't wait for an opportunity to be offered to you, ask for them. Make them. Look for ways to grow your reach. Reach out to others in your company, because the broader the death of people you know (and people who know you) the more likely you will be to find unexpected options.
I feel this entirely. Perhaps more of an organizational change like a start up may help bring that excitement back. Also do some discovery within your own company about different roles, do they have an R&D area that you may be suited for?
The cert is good to have even if you don't choose to be a PM. I finished the course a few months ago but realized I don't want to be a PM. I've been bored for a while and have been doing a lot of work on myself to figure out what I want to do. I recently hired a coach (Hey Miss Lee) for high achieving women and it has really helped me find my way. I just got out of the military at 42 years old two years ago and just about every person who "retires" from the military comes into the civilian work force clueless on what they want to do. I share that to let you know your age is really young and I think pretty normal for what you are experiencing.
