My sister, a mother of a 11 yr old has been a business owner for a very long time. In the years prior to Covid she was successful in building a artwork design business making $200k but the platform she was on Etsy kicked her out for non-compliance and has since found it challenging to build it back up. This has led her to rethink about her decision to carry on with this and would like to switch to a role in technology. Would she qualify to lead teams? Or should she focus on learning a hard skill

just starting a new position in Capgemini Wherein I was hired for a client engagement manager position. After joining they are saying taht the responsibility for the position has been absorbed by existing people. So now they are confused what to do with me. How do I handle this situation?
I’m currently at a non-profit that works with federal agency clients on human capital projects (basically federal consulting). After not receiving an expected promotion, I began applying for jobs & was connected with a Partner at Guidehouse. We had a great convo about my skills/interests & their work, and I’m currently having convos with some directors about potentially joining their teams. How should I approach those convos to close the deal? I’d appreciate any advice about the company, pay…
I been there and I feel you. You have to find your passion or jobs enjoy doing with good income, then search indeed and LinkedIn for the qualifications, you might need to take courses or volunteer to get some experience but most important NETWORKING, Networking, Networking , did I say Networking 😉( it’s who you know not what you know) . Good luck 🍀
I'd first look into what you enjoy and what you'd really enjoy doing for a job. Depending on your age, I believe you can change into anything. The bigger questions are what do you want to do and why do you want to switch. Then just start trying things until you find the things that you really enjoy.
Here's more detail:
First thing you want to do is understand what interests you have and what you’re good at. Then find a career that combines these two things. Once you identify a career of interest, confirm this career by working on a side project or 2. This validates you like this new career and you won’t switch into a career you’re unhappy about. Then develop the experience by working on bigger projects, so you can stand out.
I built a social platform that matches people's careers with their passions by working on projects with a coach. We will help you with each of these steps and help you transition into a new career. Come check us out: ourbreadcrumbs.co
I sympathize with you! I am currently going through the same thing. I have been in my field for 10+ years. Wanting to pívot but not sure where I am able to use my transferable skills. I have applied to so many roles that fit my experience but aren’t exactly doing what I’m attempting to leave. No one gives me an opportunity though. It’s definitely discouraging.
Let’s support each other through this! 🙏🏼
